1st floor: Large living room with Futon sofa, 2 recliners, TV, DVD player, very efficient wood stove (cordwood provided) and traditional, red brick chimney. Eat-in kitchen with propane stove, refrigerator with automatic ice maker/crusher, coffee machine, microwave, all cooking and eating utensils. Propane backup heat. Private office/smoking parlor (smoking only in this room) with high speed internet. There is a wood room behind the chimney so you do not have to leave the cottage to fetch cordwood.

2nd floor: Bedroom walled with local pine boards with queen-size bed with room for cot, 6' closet. Roomy bathroom walled 100% with native cedar, with washer/dryer and bidet. Towels and linens/blankets provided. There is a roomy balcony with clothesline facing south brook.

Outdoors: 21 acres of woods, on private road ¼ mile from Route 100. Patio with gas grill, woodshed/car port (or park snowmobile there), wood-fired 6-person cedar Finnish sauna by brook. 

Location: Just half mile to village store, near VAST trail and Jay Peak Resort. Hazen's Notch cross-country ski trails are nearby. Stowe is about 1 hour south on Rte 100 & Montreal is 2 hours north.

Close to Everything!: Ski-do right onto Vast trail. Great downhill ski/snowboard at Jay Peak (10 miles driving). Cross-country at Jay & Hazen's Notch (7 miles driving). Swimming/boating Lake Eden (12 miles) & Lake Memphremagog (15 miles). 18 hole golfing at Jay & Newport Country Club (15 miles). Canada is 10 miles north. Montreal is less than 2 hours driving. Stowe is 1 hour. Burlington is 90 minutes.

Area Highlights: Spectacular early autumn foliage. Good hunting (deer, moose, turkey) & stream & lake fishing. Antiquing.

Carmel Cottage is small, but cozy, heated by an efficient wood stove and/or propane heater. All the amenities of home are here. We are located in a rural area of woods and dairy farms. The Finnish sauna (clothing-optional) in the yard is on a brook for convenient dowsing between sweats, or just roll in the snow as others do!
