Private Mountainview Artful Studio+1 bedroom

Details

Home Description

Our Mountainview Studio is private and tucked in over our garage at the very back of the house. It is full of windows and has a spectacular view of downtown and the capital with Camels Hump and the Worcester mountain range beyond. Sunsets are just incredible!

Take a quick walk downtown and explore the nation's smallest capital, arts and culture, museums, shops, restaurants, microbrews, and live music! You’ll love the neighborhood and college green, beautiful light in the apartment, and being centrally located, near many famous destinations.

Our backyard is private and there is the feeling of being out in the country, while being very close to downtown. You will have access to a barbecue and relaxing area in the backyard, which we enjoy sharing with all of our guests.

The extra little bedroom is perfect for couples traveling with children, or a second couple. The apartment has books and games, an iron and hair dryer, and lots of things in the cupboards and drawers in case you forgot something.

Our guests really love the kitchen, and we have made a big effort to think of everything you might need to cook a great meal with basic pantry items and a good variety of spices!

The house has two other apartments, which makes this a fun place to book for family vacations, friends traveling together, or a wedding or event. If you need to book several apartments space please ask and we'll take a look at availability!

I will message you after booking to orient you, provide directions and procedure for picking up your keys.

Guests can choose how interactive they'd like to be. We want you to be happy and enjoy your time here, either privately or by visiting with us and picking our brains about the best places to visit while in the area.

The neighborhood is very safe and quiet, and people are very friendly.

Check out the city site, Lost Nation Theater, and Kellogg Hubbard Library. There is a recreation center a short drive away with a pool, tennis courts, and ballfields, as well as a reservoir for cookouts, boating and swimming.

The city bus stops right in front of the house and is free. There is also a lot of bike riding in town, and you could rent a bike while here.

PLEASE NOTE: If you Instant Book, I will need 2 hours from the booking time as I re-vacuum and dust the space before the arrival of all guests (might be a shorter time.) You are welcome to arrive, land your luggage and pick up a key, and leave your car to walk downtown, etc.

We like our guests to be considerate and observe reasonable quiet hours in the backyard and at the front of the house, where we have two additional apartments. If you are planning a small gathering in the yard, it is best to plan in advance so that others can enjoy the same opportunity too.

About The Area

80 College Street is located on a flat walking street, 8 buildings away from Vermont College of Fine Arts and the college green. The neighborhood is very quiet and well-maintained, and safe for children and teenagers to enjoy time outdoors. Because downtown is a 10 minute walk it's easy while here to not use your vehicle.

Montpelier has many attractions being the state capital, while being centrally located for day trips to see area attractions, hike or ski, concerts, even a day trip to Montreal is possible.

House Rules

We are a quiet household, so appreciate guests who also enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. There are no pets or smoking on the premises or property please, and we rent only to non-smokers. Because there are other apartments in the building, we ask that you observe reasonable quiet hours after 10 PM and before 8 AM.

Suitability

This property is suitable for adults and children all ages. All the stairways have railings. The entire property can be rented for wedding or reunions. Please ask us.

Would stay again and recommend highly!

We truly enjoyed our stay of 3 nights in downtown Montpelier at this wonderful hideaway - we stayed in the back apartment over the garage space. Fabulous view from the kitchen area, high ceilings, very thoughtfully appointed bath & kitchen. Beth was lovely and responsive and so accommodating! Truly a great hostess. We walked to town every day, had amazing food at Down Home Kitchen, Bohemian Bakery (best coffee and croissants) ... among others. Would stay again and recommend highly! Thanks
