Magnificent Mansion for Luxurious Vermont Celebrations, Reunions and Retreats

Details

Home Description

This is a luxury rental for guests who want to be pampered with daily housekeeping and a chef to prepare their meals (for an additional fee.)

Step into the pages of the Great Gatsby. The Wilburton Mansion was built as the largest private estate in Manchester Vermont in 1902. Now our grand, historic mansion can be yours for deluxe family reunions, special anniversary and birthday celebrations, destination weddings and corporate, academic, creative and wellness retreats.

The 15,000 sq. foot mansion features oriental rugs, chandeliers, four poster beds, and stunning architectural details. High ceilings, wood burning fireplaces, a grand piano and mahogany carved stairs are just some of the details that give guests an authentic turn-of-the century feeling of grandeur.

Our staff is available to assist you. Our front desk concierge can assist you with recommendations of activities to make the most of your time on your Vermont vacation. For an additional fee, our chef can cater any or all of your meals, family style or with white glove service. Breakfast is one of our specialties and features artisanal hearth baked breads from our organic farm. ($15/per person plus tax and gratuity.)

Someone from our staff can assist your group if you prefer to cook in the mansion at no extra charge. For an additional fee, our staff can even do the dishes while you relax beside the fire and enjoy time with your guests.

Two dining rooms are included in your rental: our verdant and sunny Green Mountain Dining Room and the fireside Rose Dining Room. Our wood paneled Billiard Room is not included in the rental as it contains the inn's bar which is closed when the mansion is rented to a private group. The Billiard Room can be added for an additional fee and our bartender would be happy to serve you from our top shelf bar and selection of hand crafted Vermont beers and spirits.

The 30-acre hilltop estate includes an outdoor pool, tennis court, basketball hoop, volleyball net, and tetherball. Our vast lawns contain a beautiful sculpture garden with a permanent exhibit of the Museum of the Creative Process. You can also visit our organic farm and bakery, 3 miles away.

The Wilburton mansion sleeps 24 guests. Additional guest rooms and five other vacation homes are the estate. All together the hilltop can accommodate 100 overnight guests and catered events for 175. We own two other historic mansions and a guest home nearby that can accommodate an additional 65 guests.

Please note that while you have exclusive use of the Wilburton Mansion, the other guests share access to the pool, tennis court and grounds. Since the estate is so large, everyone feels a great sense of privacy and space.

The Wilburton Inn's front desk relocates to our carriage house when the inn is rented to private groups to assure you the most privacy. The front desk is staffed at the Wilburton mansion during Friday night check in till 8pm to assist the other guests.

The Wilburton is just 1 mile from the Equinox Resort and Hildene, 2 miles from Manchester's Designer Outlet Shopping, Orvis, hiking at Equinox Pond, nearby Stratton Mt, Bromley Mountain and the Vermont Horse Show.
The Wilburton Mansion is located on River Road which is perfect for scenic jogging and biking and hiking right out your door.

Ask us how we can help you plan your next special gathering! We look forward to welcoming you.

Words do not do it justice

It is sincerely difficult to put into words the beautiful weekend we just enjoyed at the Wilburton Inn . We were a family of 23, of all ages, celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. Let me just say that from the very first contact until the culmination of the weekend everyone at the Inn was more than helpful and caring and helped make the process seamless. We could not have asked for any better. The Inn itself is something to be enjoyed and savored...but, for us, the absolute best part of the weekend was the people. Everyone, from Albert (the owner of the Inn), Melissa (Alberts daughter and the Innkeeper), to Michele and Christopher (just two of the staff) was so attentive to detail and always ready to help no matter what. They truly treated us like family. All of our group said they felt so comfortable and relaxed (which is not always the case). The Inn is spectacular, the rooms are beautiful and so clean and comfortable. The views are exceptional, the food was some of the best we have ever eaten. The sculptural Museum of the Creative Process on the grounds is not to be missed, and, of course, there is shopping etc. in Manchester itself. I do believe that everyone took something good and uplifting back home with them. Also, we all hesitated and did not want to leave...that definitely says something about where you are. Might I say that it was a bit magical. If you ever have a chance to stay at the Inn with the Levis family...do not hesitate...jump right in...because they WILL make it special. We hope to go back again in the future. Alan and Chris and their whole family send hugs and our best to the Levis family and staff at the Inn

Exceptional Elegance in Manchester Vermont

We stayed at the Wilburton Inn (Wilburton Mansion and Maxwell House) for a corporate retreat this past weekend. Our hosts, Melissa, Alan and all of their staff, were extremely accommodating, considerate and helped to ensure every detail was attended to. The old world charm of the mansion creates a unique ambiance that adds an elegant touch to the stay. The chef, Gary, prepared wonderful breakfasts and dinner during our stay and the grounds offered lots of space to walk, enjoy, and explore. We highly recommend a stay here! Whether you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a family looking to get out of the city or a large group, the Wilburton is the perfect place to make memories you will never forget.

Family Reunion

Wonderful experience! We hosted a family reunion of about 40 people and the Wilburton was perfect -- great location, beautiful accommodations, and a very helpful staff. We could not have been happier.

Amazing in every way!

You don't just stay at the Wilberton, you experience it! Our accomodations in the Equinox Views Villa were outstanding, the room was spacious, well appointed, incredibly comfortable and with gorgeous views from every window. The Inn-keepers are so warm and welcoming, they made our visit truly special. Breakfast was a culinary masterpiece, from the homemade breads and preserves, to the quiche, pancakes, fresh fruit and oh the lemon coffee cake...if I didn't live 3 hours away I would be there every morning! I most highly recommend the Wilburton and look forward to returning again soon.
