Blanco River Retreat did not disappoint!
3 mamas and their kiddos came for a couple of days and had an absolute blast! We stayed in the refurbished barn that is so cute and so cozy and plenty of room for all 9 of us! The kids took over the loft and the adults soaked up the quiet in the main part of the barn. From sun up to sun down we spent our time either at the pool or at the river. At night, we relaxed and enjoyed the back porch with the amazing scenic view. I cannot wait to go back with just my husband for a little romantic getaway! Thank you so much for having us and taking care of us anytime we needed it!Amie R.

Blanco river retreat is a wonderful escape to the Texas Hill Country!
The peacefulness of the river and the country was a welcome respite from Hurricane Harvey. From the beautifully decorated home to the great tips from the host (jumping rock to places to visit or eat), our kids and families had a wonderful time just being with one another and enjoying each other's company. The whole trip reminded me of my childhood and left me wondering why it took me so long to come back to visit. We will be back again!Sarah K.

Amazing! Amazing! AMAZING!
One of the best - if not the best - properties we've rented over the years. The pictures absolutely DO NOT do the property justice. The interior and exterior design was luxurious with top quality in everything at every turn. No detail was missed. It is laid out perfectly for large or small groups and people of all ages. We had a group of 22 people with 16 adults ranging in age from 17yrs - 70yrs old, and 6 children from 1yrs - 9yrs, and it was perfect for all. The ONLY thing that was a minor issue was that we had to block off the stairs in living area from the toddler. Other than that, the other stairs on the property were not steep and were easy to navigate for small children and the "mature" adults. :) Additional brag items on the property: 1. Pool had a heater since it cooled off some and was perfect. 2. Several spent a lot of time fishing at the river and caught bass and catfish. 3. The area up and down the river was beautiful and great for exploring. 4. If you didn't want to go downstairs you could watch all activities from the large covered deck off the living room, including the people up and down the river. 5. Deer were EVERYWHERE 6. Tons of seating inside and out 7. Plenty of space for eating between the large dinning table, XL island with barstools, and the outside dining right off the main area. We had extra space even with our large group. 8. The converted barn is JUST as amazing and plush as the main house. 9. Barn house and main house are very close to each other and just a few minutes walk back and forth at the most... AND, safe for even the 5 year old to walk back and forth between. I do recommend bringing a flashlight for walking back and forth at night. 10. Was a quick scenic drive into Blanco and Wimberley. 11. Even though we were in a remote location, the Taqueria El Charro Mexican restaurant in Blanco still delivered to us on Saturday night - the fajitas were AMAZING! 12. The kitchen was top of the line with and was wonderfully stocked with top pots and pans and utensils. We were spoiled at end of the trip! 13. The owners went out of their way for our group and special 70th bday weekend for my mother. Complete with a nice "Happy 70th Birthday" banner up on the fire place and lovely treats waiting for the group when we arrived. They were very attentive and so incredibly nice - we couldn't have asked for more!!! I could go on and on about this place and our stay.Amy P.
