Home away from home

Our family rented this home for Labor Weekend and had an amazing time! Being right on the water with access to canoes and kayaks, watching the ducks and listening to the sounds of the lake is awesome. We had a very relaxing time, enjoying a campfire every night and sitting on the enclosed porch during the rain with the fireplace going to take off the chill. The house is clean and very well equipped! Will definitely rent again!

Relax and Enjoy!

Despite so-so weather, we all enjoyed our week at Longview: sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the dock taking in the fresh mountain air, taking daily walks around Lake Algonquin, kayaking, fishing and having campfires at night. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and has a very well-equipped kitchen. We also appreciated having cable TV and Verizon cell service. We'd highly suggest a hike to Auger Falls which is just 3 miles north on route 30. Also, check out the Hope Diner for breakfast, south of Wells on route 30.

Cozy Cabin with great extras!

Barbara and Jim were welcoming and checked in to see if we had any questions. We had 6 people for three days in this cozy cabin. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen, finding all the equipment we needed. We played multiple board games by the fire in the living room. The chairs and couch in the living room are exceptionally comfortable and the fireplace warms everything up quickly. We made a fire in the fire pit both nights. There were plenty of towels provided, sheets and blankets on all the beds, convenient recycling bins, and a large back porch that would be great in warmer weather. Check in and out was easy. Over all, we had a blast and would recommend this cabin to anyone.

Peaceful and Relaxing place

We (5 adults) stayed for a short 3days/2 nights but had a wonderful time. The house was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped (we cooked every day). The lake was very peaceful; no large/noisy boats. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thanks Barbara for letting us stay in your beautiful house.
