In Jackson Heights, Queens you won't be living in the heart of tourist Manhatan, so you won't have to deal with the tourist hordes and general institutional sterility that has taken over the heart of Manhattan either. Jackson Heights is one of Queens' historic districts, largely known for its "garden-apartment" architecture and slate-roofed rowhouses. Quiet and shady streets. About the most eclectic mix of population that you will find anywhere in New York, which is saying a lot: young professionals and artists, old-time residents, and thriving, bustling immigrant communities that not only give the area its unique character (more languages are spoken in this community district in Queens than in any other comparable piece of territory ANY-where in the world) but will provide you with some of the highest quality, affordable ethnic food in New York. When you book I will provide you with a list of local restaurants, pubs, grocery stores, taco stands, laundromats, etc.

The apartment is a five-minute walk to the subway, the 7 train, which is among the most efficient and fast metro lines in the city. From the 90th Street station, it's a thirty-minute ride to Grand Central station, 35 minutes to Times Square, and from there all the rest of New York is easily accessible.

House rules are simple: behave decently and quietly after hours, or as you would in your own neighborhood back home. No pets.. Non-smoking.
