My family and I had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful time, and we will be returning next summer. It’s a unique location that is close to the town of Skaneateles and its restaurants, but simultaneously has all the trappings and privacy of a cabin in the woods. Although the owners live on the property, they appreciate the value of your privacy and never, ever intrude. As a point of clarification, two of the pictures in the profile are outdated. The antiquated, twelve-inch television shown in the living room has been replaced with a modern and much larger flat panel. Also, in the lakefront picture there is only shoreline without a dock. There now is one that is great for tying up a boat or jumping into the pristine waters of Skaneateles Lake. Can’t wait for next summer!

An all around excellent experience!

It is a quaint cottage very close to the town of Skaneateles which is beautiful. The owners of the cottage live right on the property as well and are so super nice! We really felt a part of their "family" but they weren't intrusive. Most of the conversations happened because they were out in their yard and I stopped to talk with them. They were very welcoming! A very short walk to their private "beach". It was very clean and very well maintained. The road coming into the cabin almost makes a very cool tunnel with the trees overhanding. and I experienced the most amazing site. when I was walking my puppy before bed I walked through the tunnel of trees and all in the trees flying around were fireflies it felt very magical! My only concern with posting this review is that more people will book this house and it will be harder for us to book! Should we make our way to Skaneateles again THIS is where we will stay!

Excellent House and Property

My wife and I just got back from a weekend at the house and the place is gorgeous. We went with our 8 year old son who fished right off the dock and caught a fish and we were swimming as well. The whole house is spotless and clean and the area is so quiet and private and the lake access is less than a minute away with a great resting spot at the waters edge. The house is also very close to the main street. Andrew was the perfect host and always available for any questions or anything we needed otherwise it was like no one else was around. We will definitely come back and hopefully get all sun this time :-) Thanks, Patrick Keane

Perfect R&R place!

This cottage is shagri-la for anyone who wants a feeling of privacy in a beautiful place while still being a short mile drive to the village for convenience. The trees surrounding the property give one a feeling of seclusion and serenity, and a short walk down the drive will bring you to your own private waterfront area with your own dock, and beach chairs to sit on whilst reading or just enjoying the ambience this lake provides. I've rented several camps/cottages on Skaneateles, and this one is now far and away my favorite: reasonable rates, friendly--yet not intrusive--owners, everything you need in the way of kitchen supplies, and it's CLEAN! A couple I've rented haven't been, so this is a big plus! The best part, for me, is the lake itself: Skaneateles simply can't be beat for clean, clear water for swimming, boating, fishing. This time of year--late Sept./early Oct.--is great for a drive through the countryside, and if you take one, check out the Navarino Orchard, whether to pick some apples or just visit the store. It's very pretty and relaxing there, as well. All in all, I just can't wait to go back and stay in this cottage again next year. See you then, folks! And thanks for providing a wonderful place : )
