Welcome to our scenic Northfork Cabin! We constructed this cabin in 2011 as our semi-retirement home and are making it available for limited periods during the six-month seasonal tourist season. We have been on VRBO for nine years and switched to TRIPZ because we do not use credit cards and the associated fees which have to be passed on to our clients. Further, we like to be able to conduct personal visits with potential guests to create a more friendly association.
The cabin is a 2000 sq. fit log-sided 1.75 story structure. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a maximum of four guests allowed as per Flathead County health and occupancy regulations. The cabin has all the amenities needed for your comfortable visit to our recreation area adjacent to Glacier National Park. Some features include, washer and dryer, garbage disposal, front and back porch lounge chairs, coffee maker, microrange, toaster ovens (2), wood stove, gas forced air furnace, propane barbeque, two eight-foot deep covered porches, lawn chairs for lounging at the banks of the North Fork of the Flathead River, a national wild and scenic river where no motorized vessels are allowed. The cabin has a full compliment of kitchen utensils and dishware and all the cooking appliances needed to make your visit efficient and easy. We have a complete line of bedding and bathroom linenware. In short, all you need to bring is your clothing and some groceries!
About The Area
North Fork Cabin is unique because it fronts (130 feet) on the North Fork of the Flathead River, just feet from the front porch. The North Fork is a riparian corridor established for its pristine values of scenery and clean water. The North Fork flows south out of the mountains of British Columbia and is nationally-recognized as one of the last free-flowing, undisturbed riversheds in the nation. Additionally, just across the river is Glacier National Park, a million acre wilderness. We are located just 15 minutes from West Glacier, the western entrance to the Park.
Nearby is the Bob Marshall Wilderness, Whitefish Mountain ski and summer resort in Whitefish Montana and the Flathead National Forest with thousands of acres of scenic and recreation opportunities. Nearest town for shopping is Columbia Falls, Montana, just ten minutes from the cabin. Boutique shops, antique stores, trendy or funky bars and restaurants are found throughout the nearby Flathead Valley. Air connections are through Glacier Park International Airport, 20 minutes from the cabin. Direct flights are available during the summer on United, Delta and other major carriers from Southern California, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth. AMTRAK serves (seasonally) West Glacier and Whitefish, Montana. Rental vehicles are available at both locations.
Our previous guests through VRBO have commented favorably on the convenience of having a comfortable, fully-furnished home as a jumping off location to explore Glacier Park and the Flathead National Forest. We have nine years of quality reviews from our guests. Previous reviews may still be available on the VRBO site #282736.
We are a NON-SMOKING property and screen our guests to insure that our cabin is free from odors and unhealthy living conditions. There is a three night minimum stay. Sorry, no pets in order to create an allergy-sensitive environment. Trash must be kept in secured bins in the detached storage shed to eliminate any incursions from bears or other wildlife.
We are a ground floor, ground level structure with stairs that lead to the three-quarter loft with its bedroom and bathroom. Handicap access is adequate for most visitors.
