Peaceful and Relaxing Stay at a Great Location!

Our stay at Camp David was exactly what we had hoped for – peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed spending time on the deck taking in the serenity of John’s Bay and watching the occasional lobster boat check its traps. The weather in mid-September couldn't have been any better. We really hated to go home. There really is no need to leave the Pemaquid Peninsula, but Camp David was a great launching point when we felt like venturing out and exploring more of Maine. The kitchen at the cottage is great for preparing meals, however, when we were in the mood to eat out the Pemaquid Fisherman’s Co-op is only a few minutes away and had delicious, fresh seafood. There’s also the Muscongus Bay Lobster Company nearby and several restaurants in Damariscotta. (One word of caution, after Labor Day many of the lobster/clam “shacks” on the piers are only open Fri-Sun.) I’d be remiss if I didn't put a plug in for Round Top Ice Cream, always a favorite when we’re in the area. Lastly, Mike was a great host. We had some nice conversations and he graciously provided complimentary lobsters for our dining pleasure. We look forward to visiting again!

Pure Bliss

Our stay at Camp David was magnificent! My husband and I live close to a city and it was so refreshing to smell the pine trees and salt air and see the sun on the water and the brilliant stars and moon! We enjoyed staying in to curl up with our novels, watch a few films (Message in a Bottle with Kevin Costner was provided), and listening to the local tunes on the radio while cooking the complimentary clams and our other dinners. We also enjoyed exploring the coastline by kayak, hiking through the woods, and journeying to Monhegan Island. The night life is also quite pleasing. We had a delicious meal at a local restaurant (Coveside) and treated ourselves to cocktails at a few local bars. In all, our vacation was more than I could have hoped for. We will definitely return! Thanks, Mike!

Pure Heaven!

We have only been home for 4 days and want to go back! This place is so awesome that once you get there you dont want to leave to do anything else. This was our third trip to Maine and we liked this area the best, even over Acadia. Kayaking up river to the little islands to see the seals was second best to the lobster delivery at your dock! Thanks Mike, loved it. Only one bad thing is he wouldnt let us live there!!
