The Belgrade Lakes area is known best as the inspiration for the story and film On Golden Pond. The seven beautiful interconnected lakes in the area offer great boating, fishing, waterskiing , swimming and overall recreation.
This new cabin is something special. Constructed in the traditional Maine camp style it enjoys private lake access and has been wonderfully put together with beautiful, bright varnished pine interior v-match walls and hand crafted details.
The main entrance welcomes guests to a high ceiling central entrance area that opens to a roomy modern kitchen with all new appliances, black granite tile and a 9 foot bar area. The dining area and living room also offer a spacious open floor plan. The main level also has a large screened porch which is perfect to curl up and read a book or just enjoy the wonderful natural setting. The master bedroom and full bath are located on the main level.
Up the stairs there is a roomy loft area which has two twins and a couch, perfect for games or another spot to kick back and relax. Across the "catwalk" upstairs there is the large 2nd bedroom which has 3 twins. A door from that room leads to an upper deck.
The 3rd and lower level is a walk-out basement with TV area, entertainment bar, a small 2nd bathroom and a small 3rd bedroom. There is a washer/dryer on the lower level.
Outside there is a spacious flat grassy yard for setting up a badminton or volleyball net. There is plenty of driveway parking.
A short stroll down the hill is your private waterfront equipped with new dock, swimming area, a buoy to attach your boat and/or watercraft to, and another waterfront deck with BBQ that is great for dining right at the water's edge.
Bring your boat and spend the day on Great Pond or any one of the seven incredible and beautiful lakes in the area. Boat/kayak rentals are easily available at several locations.
From your location here on the eastern side of Pinkham's Cove, you can boat all over Great Pond and around its numerous islands, ride your boat into Belgrade Lakes village, park it there, go shopping and take a stroll, and come back and enjoy picture-perfect sunsets. The shore also has car access to as close as about 25 feet from the water, which is convenient for loading/unloading kayaks, canoes, and the like.
If you like golf, the highly acclaimed course in Belgrade Lakes is located just a few minutes away.
For those visiting Colby College, this home is just a few minutes away from the campus and affords an excellent alternative and value as compared to staying at a traditional hotel/motel.
