Experience the 1880 stained glass windows, hardwood floors, and 12-foot ceilings in spacious rooms with upscale decor. King and queen accomadations include cable TV, telephone, wireless DSL computer connections, a seating area, signature breakfast with fresh flowers, and attention to detail. The home is a beautiful setting for wedding reception and events, and the public is invited to join us for a tea luncheon on the first Saturday of each month. Two-and-one-half-story asymmetrical brick structure is finished by a high-hipped roof of slate with flared eaves and a crenelated roof comb. a two-story turret has a domed roof with flared, overhanging eaves. The double-doored central entrance is recessed under a single-story-arched porch of impressive size containing a terra-cotta accented balcony. The Romanesque-type arches in rusticated stones are repeated over the porch in the second-story balcony entrance and above stained glass fanlights on the first story.
Stained glass can also be found in the double entrance doors and in some window sashes and transoms. A polygonal bay projects from the building face on the east side, as does a square bay on the north side. Enter this lovely old home through an entrance hall os foyer with a magnificent cherry wrap-around staircase leading to the second story. To the left is the drawing room, behind it the formal dining room. Both rooms have elegant hand-carved mantle pieces. There are eight fireplaces in the house with original mantles and tiles.
THE CLAY ROOM
Experience true KY hospitality in this 1st floor room. The queen-size rice carved bed provides a restful night's sleep. Guests may enjoy the seating area while reading or watching one of the many DVD's from the Bennett House collection. The private bathroom includes tub with shower plus spacious room for all your luggage and personal items.
THE BELLE ROOM
Visualize the era of Belle Bennett while enjoying modern conveniences in this second story room. The hand painted furniture, modern over-stuffed chairs plus the queen size bed provides relaxation during your stay. A special feature to your spacious bathroom with tub and shower is a massage chair-yours for the using!
THE HUNTER ROOM
The Hunter Room, also on the second floor, captures a glimpse of historic KY Bluegrass country. Any true hunter will appreciate the king size bed and cherry furnishings. The seating area has two wing back chairs for the television and DVD player. The spacious bathroom features bathtub with shower.
THE SMART ROOM
The full-size Campbellsville cherry bed provides a restful experience for that extra person in your group. The Smart Room does not have an ajoining bathroom and is typically reserved for those with another room in the Bennett House.
