Sedona Holiday Cottage

Home Description

This delightful Sedona cottage is perfectly situated for easily accessing everything Sedona has to offer. The fully equipped and spacious (1,000 sq, ft,) 1br/1ba floor plan will very comfortably accommodate 2 people, and a roll-away bed is available to accommodate a third guest.

A wonderful, fully furnished, trellised patio, with wood burning fireplace, large gas grill, and views of the surrounding gardens, provides additional space and is perfect for quiet reflection, outdoor dining, and stargazing.

Surrounded by trees, flowers, and greenery everywhere, the property attracts a wide variety of birds and butterflies, creating a heightened sense of peace and sanctuary in this space.

The cottage is located in a quiet West Sedona neighborhood and is within walking distance to Natural Grocers, Whole Foods, restaurants, movie theatres, boutique shops, two great thrift shops, a bike rental shop, Starbucks, and more. Other services, major shopping hubs, scores of art galleries, jeep-tour pick-up points, and many hiking trail heads are just a few minutes away by car.

For birders and nature lovers this is an exceptionally good location - less than 10 minutes to Red Rock State Park and only 15 minutes to two Important Bird Areas that attract over 120 bird species.  Of course, with all the trees that surround the cottage, you can do loads of bird watching from the comfort of the livingroom and patio.

If  you plan to do some mountain biking on this trip, the top mountain biking center in the area is just a short walk from the cottage. Mountain bikes, street bikes and related equipment are available to rent, and the staff will help you with tips on best biking locations, and more.   A work station is set up in the backyard, where you can wash your bike after daily rides and do repairs.

For those with metaphysical interests, the property sits at the base a major Sedona vortex. Many people report experiences of heightened intuitive abilities and deep spiritual insights while spending time at the property. The cottage was at one time a metaphysical training center and library, where thousands of metaphysical, New Age, and self-development books were available.  Some of the books are still available at the cottage and you'll have loads of fun browsing the collection.

In addition to all of the above, the cottage is just one block from Whole Foods, and walking distance to two other natural food stores and many restaurants. More restaurants, metaphysical bookstores, movie theatres & gift shops, State parks, local parks, main tourist hubs, scores of art galleries, community pool, day spas, yoga centers, major grocery stores, and terrific hiking trails, are just minutes away by car.

Best Time of the Year to Travel

Visitors can enjoy Sedona year-round. In the winter months (Dec, Jan, Feb), climate is chilly (bring your coat), but still mild enough to hike on most days; drive to Flagstaff to ski (45 minutes), visit art galleries and shops, take an art class, attend the Film Festival (February), and more.

Spring (Mar, Apr, May) and Autumn ( Sept, Oct, Nov) temperatures are warmer, but not too hot, and ideal for spending lots of time outside. Hiking, birding, jeep rides, horseback riding, winery tours, Sedona Jazz Festival (April) Sedona Wine Fest (Sept), balloon rides, and more are all popular activities in Spring and Autumn months. .

Summer is hot (95-100+) but still a fine time to visit. In June, July and August, cottage guests receive a gift pass to the Sedona Community Pool - an extraordinary site with panoramic views of Sedona's spectacular red rock landscape. Temperatures are cool enough in the mornings to hike, and very comfortable all day in nearby Oak Creek Canyon. Other popular summer activities include river rafting down the Verde River, winery tours, swimming in Oak Creek, attending the annual Hummingbird Festival (July), and more. Temperatures drop in the evenings to enjoy early evening walks, dinner and conversation on the beautiful cottage patio, or enjoying a patio dinner at one of the fabulous local restaurants like Miraposa or Elote. And, of course, visiting all the Sedona shops and galleries is fun anytime of year.
