Home Description

Set in 5 acres of tall timber, this Park's home offers rustic elegance, comfort and absolute tranquility. A visitor would never know they were only minutes away from Flagstaff, restaurants and city activities. Choose from the night-life of Flagstaff or the adventures of the Grand Canyon (that is only a 55 minute drive!) , mountain biking, skiing or any number of outdoor activities within minutes of this beautiful retreat. This 2500 square foot home features a master suite, 4 bedrooms, a loft and 2 bathrooms. A supplemental wood burning stove adds that cozy touch while a family, or group of friends are nestled in for a late night home movie in this beautifully appointed Casa. The loft is great for kids and the covered porch, just off the living room, is great for BBQ's, boisterous conversations, relaxing evenings....Or just watching the wildlife. You are in the woods! The property backs up against 500 acres of Coconino National forest, so the only unexpected guests will be the deer, elk and eagle.

Snow play park off of Route 66 : 5 minutes away is a state park for kids to play in the snow, they have small runs for sledding and sliding etc. Anything you can think of to do in the snow. Great time for the family. Tubing year round at Elk Ridge Ski area.

Tubing in Williams, AZ : 12 minutes away is Williams, AZ 'Gateway to the Grand Canyon' and it has a small ski slope but half of the ski slope is used for tubing (year round) and it is a blast.

Beautiful setting, great location.

We had a group of 12 (two families) sharing this home for our Grand Canyon vacation. This gem was perfect for our size. There was plenty of room for everyone. The home provided all we needed and was quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. A hammock and porch swing were great for enjoying the views of the surrounding woods. The games stocked in the closet entertained our kids (teens and preteens). The adults had ample room for meal prep and laundry. The drive into the canyon, while not super close, did not seem too far. Our only disappointment is that we could not manage a sunrise view in the canyon. Getting a group that included 5 teens out that early is next to impossible. We took one day to tour sights around Flagstaff since we were so close and were glad we did. There are some gems in the area. We ended up upgrading to the America the Beautiful pass to save some money. Outside the Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon was my favorite but the meteor and volcanic craters and Wapatki were also great. (By they way, our friends' youngest was a 4th grader. In case you are not aware, all 4th graders and their families get to enjoy the parks for free during the year.) On our last day there, we took the GC Railroad which departed from nearby Williams into the Canyon. It was an easy way to relax and enjoy the canyon. Our group was a bit more active, preferring hiking and biking which are best done when you have more time after driving in, but it was a nice change of pace. The boys especially loved being so close to Route 66.

Comfortable accommodations and secluded feel

Rustic all-wood cabin just off Route 66 in wooded area. Close to plenty of attractions including the Grand Canyon and the Lava River Caves. There's plenty of space and is very comfortable. The kids loved it! The property manager was very honest and went out of her way to look for an electronic device that one of our kids accidentally left and mailed it back to us!

Great place to stay, very secluded and saw elk everyday out back of the house. Small issues that we had the owner corrected immediately and very prompt.
