It is located in Munds Park, 120 miles north of Phoenix, 20 minutes south of Flagstaff, 30 minutes east of Sedona and 90 miles from the Grand Canyon National Forest. The entrance to the Coconino National Forest is just a block from the cabin and it is a short, one mile drive to the Pinewood Country Club which has a scenic 18-hole championship golf course. This is a private course. Short term vacation rental memberships are available at the club for a nominal fee. Members and guests may play golf, play tennis, use the workout facility or youth center, swim and dine at Pinewood Country Club May to November depending on weather conditions.
Nestled in the pines, Casita Bonita offers travelers a mountain experience in an upscale home. At Casita Bonita, family members and guests will enjoy views of trees and sky through clearstory windows in the great room where there is a large stone fireplace. A spacious deck wraps around the entire cabin, with a porch swing and several sets of patio furniture. Visitors enjoy sitting close to chirping birds which fly from branch to feeder on the decks in front and in back of the cabin.
Casita Bonita has Wi-Fi and high speed cable Internet, Satellite TV, a 50” HDTV and two smaller TVs with each with DVD player and VCR. There is a stereo/CD player with a cable for iPod use. The entertainment center has more than 50 movies, numerous board games, as well as toys, and puzzles. Outside there is both a horseshoe pit and a fire pit. Firewood is provided.
The cabin sleeps six. Both bedrooms have quality linens and down comforters. A high quality leather sofa in the living area converts to a comfortable queen size bed.
For the gourmet cook, Casita Bonita offers an unusually well equipped kitchen. A variety of cookware, spices, baking supplies and even condiments are on hand. There is a dishwasher, oven, microwave, blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, crockpot, and toaster, as well as a full size propane Weber grill. The dining table seats 8.
