Our place is close to restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, nightlife, and public transport. You’ll love our place because of the location, the ambiance, and the outdoors space. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
This home was built in 1914 but you'd never know it! When we realized that it didn't have a foundation, we decided to lift it up and put in a basement underneath the home! So the basement is it's own 2-bedroom, rentable unit with a complete kitchen and it's own laundry machines!
So everything but the subfloor on the two upper levels is new!
The Large Master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet and a DEEP soaker stand-alone tub in the middle of the room! (Plus a shower). You could bring in air mattresses and put them up in the living area on the main floor if you have more than 2 people coming for just $25 extra per person. We don't provide those mattress or bedding though. Just an option if you need more beds. (There is also space in the Master for air mattresses on the floor.)
The 2nd bedroom is currently being rented to a local Dr. He is quiet and works long hours. We expect guests to be cordial and keep the place nice. He is friendly and is completely open to sharing the space when he is home, although that is rare. Both bedroom doors have electronic door code locks so your space will remain private for your entire stay. It works great! (And you will have the spacious master bedroom with the soaker tun and walk-in closet).
The Main Living area is spacious and modern with plenty of seating at the table, bar, desks, and living room.
We will provide you with a door code that is specially created for your stay when it gets closer to your arrival. It will only work for your stay, so keep it private. :)
This home is located near Tieton and there is a bus that stops near the end of the street if you are using public transit. Otherwise, there is plenty of room for parking on the driveway (for both units). An RV or two will even fit!
We do not live near the home, but are always available via text, email or phone. You'll have the Master Bedroom and bathroom plus the entire main level to yourself except at night when the Dr returns home to sleep. If there is another renter in the basement apartment, you won't need to worry about entrance because they have a separate, well-lit entrance in the back.
There are motion sensor lights at the back entrances so you can enter safely, and we have security cameras posted at all doors and toward the streets for added protection. The front porch light is always on as well.
This home is ideally located for someone working at the hospital or YVCC, or any job in downtown Yakima really. Great access off Tieton as well as access to public transit. The neighbors care too! They seem to keep their yards up and homes taken care of (minus the one house on the corner, which we have been promised will be redone next summer). We have seen many people out walking their animals and visiting with neighbors over the months we have been going over to work on the place.
Parking at our home is easy! The driveway has plenty of space for both upper and lower apartment renters. And as mentioned before, there is a bus stop at the end of the street!
The cleaning fee is mandatory for every stay since we have to have a cleaner come in after each guest, but you'll know that the place is clean when you get there! The longer your stay, the more "worth it" the fee feels as it spreads the cost over the length of your stay. If we lived closer maybe we could reduce that fee, but it's just not an option at this point.
