Terrific house with incredible views!
Wonderful getaway! Incredible views from the deck, comfortable living space with plenty of room, great location near Freeland and close to Langley. It was a short (10 minute) walk to the nearest beach as well, making this a terrific place to stay.

What a View!
Outstanding rental. My family had an outstanding time exploring the island and returning to rest, relaxation and an unbelievable view. Property management has excellent communication and instruction.

It was average
The house is very old. It is not maintained well.The drainage is very bad. We could see spiders everywhere.Overall it was okay, but I would prefer something better.

Sunset Retreat
Overall it was a nice experience. There was some leaking around the free standing stove. Also, we had difficulty lighting the stove. We only got it going once.

Rental Stay
We had a lovely time at this house on Whidbey. The information for and directions to this house were easy to understand. There were three bedrooms as promised, and the view from the deck was stunning. We enjoyed our time there, visiting Langley and Coupeville, as well as a few wineries. But it was a vacation for visiting with each other and relaxing, and it was the perfect setting for that.The house was clean. One suggestion-put a nightlite in the main bathroom.

Big View!
The water view from this rental is amazing! Everything from cruise ships to submarines to container ships parade by. Our out of state family really enjoyed staying here while visiting for a wedding. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals. No complaints at all!

Sunset Retreat - Thanksgiving day weekend
We had a great time over the Thanksgiving. Rooms were clean, property was great, and amazing views. A minor issue was the bbq did not get very hot (only used for one meal), but that was pretty minor. Also would recommend an automatic light for the front door. We were warned it was dark when you arrived, but an easy fix would be a light with a motion detector on it. Final recommendation, provide some coffee, again we were warned, but it would be a very nice convenience added. Overall, it was a very nice place and we would recommend it to anyone, and will consider booking this again this summer.

Great island getaway with an amazing view
Pros: -great location-amazing views -covered parking -clean-smooth rental process -would be a great rental for families -fantastic price for the space Cons:-no outdoor lights on upon arrival-could use new bed linens (they were very clean, just a bit worn) -window cranks do not work

236 - Sunset Retreat review
Very nice home, but very limited seating upstairs. More beds than seating. Had to bring in outside chairs for 6 guests to enjoy the views together. The upstairs seating area has a loveseat and a chair. The propane fireplace quit working after our first night. Not sure if it was the fireplace or if the propane ran out. Didn't call it in for fear of yet another add-on up-charge. House is modern and nice. The view is what makes the deal worth it.

Great stay on Whidbey Island - Satisfactory Rental
Overall, our rental house on Whidbey was fine. It was neat & clean & the view was beautiful. Our beds were not very comfortable, however, and we found the open closet in the living room to be quite strange. That could possibly be made into built in shelving/entertainment area. The neighbors were obtrusive, taking video & pictures of our family. There was a neighborhood yard sale going on while we were there as well. The management company was understanding and professional given the circumstances. I would not choose this particular house again.

Sunset Retreat - 236
Negatives: Wife Spent the first 2.5 hours cleaning the kitchen. I spent an hour knocking down cobwebs. From the Pictures on line, I thought this was a modern home. Well not exactly. This 1980ish Panabode cabin, not a house, hasn't been update in a while upstairs. So if you are looking for a rustic cabin it's fine. There is one love seat and one chair upstairs ( not enough sitting space if you want to watch the Sound.) Only 4 chairs and no umbrella on the deck. Western windows cranks to open windows were broken. Time to replace them I think. Positives: Beds were great, View was great, There is a lot of room downstairs. No light in carport. Place could use some updating and a thorough cleaning.Recommendations: If you are looking for a Cabin, this is great, if you are looking for an upscale home rental - keep looking

A southerners prospective.
The property was exactly what I needed, great view, quiet and very peaceful. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would need to prepare food. The bedrooms and bath were very clean and neat. The deer that would come right up to the windows were an added treat. The only problem is that I had to leave but I hope to return soon.

Great place to stay
The place looked just like the pictures. The owner is very detailed oriented and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Her welcome book helped answer all of our questions. The place was clean, well lit and the linens and towels were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place again. Wonderful experience!
This property offered just what we were looking for: beautiful views, clean and comfortable accommodations, and an overall great atmosphere. The cabin is larger than it looks in pictures and six of us slept comfortably.The property management staff were also pleasant and helpful. I would definitely book this property again.

Our stay at the Sunset Retreat #236
We used the Greenbank Property as a home base to visit other locations on Whidbey Island and it served that purpose well, being centrally located. We enjoyed a few walks or drives to the beach and the back yard was spacious for children. We could have received a receipt for the rent in a timelier manner.

Comfortable home
The home was comfortable and well equipped. Our only complaint was that it was supposed to have bedding for 6 people but only had it for 5.

The view was great....
We have rented several houses and found this one, while the views were great of the water and the mountains, to be one we would not rent again. Often these houses have more kitchen gadgets, cookware, etc. than anyone would never need, this one was barebones. In addition, it seemed as if the owners may have removed furniture...one room had no furniture at all. It was not homey or warm but was clean. While we have stayed at retreat centers where we were asked to strip beds, it seemed that for the price we were paying this was an inappropriate request though we did it. There were no instructions how to use the propane fireplace which we needed because it was cool weather. The lock was also not programmed correctly when we arrived and we had to call the management company.

July 4th retreat weekend
We had lots of fun and the rental worked well for the 4 of us with my 2 year old grandson. There were even toys for him.The window cranks do need to be fixed on the windows and the vacuum cleaner belt needs replaced.The view from the deck was super and we were able to watch various fireworks on the 4th from there.

Beautiful View
We rented this house for a weekend getaway. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The views were beautiful but the distance from the beach and the outdoor living space were disappointing. It was perfect weather to sit outside on the deck, unfortunatley, the seating on the deck was limited and uncomfortable. The back yard space was also a dissapointment. The sliding glass door on the lower level leads out onto weed filled gravel covered with old linoleum.

Centrally located light filled home boasts a split floor plan with a private separated light filled bedroom on the ground floor. French doors, skylights, fully fenced backyard, beautiful front porch to watch the sunsets are just a few features this lovely home has. 1840 square feet with 3 bedrooms 2 bath and an over-sized eat in kitchen with dining space for 8. Enjoy walks to the well maintained community beach to watch the sunset or launch your sea kayak to roam the shore. This home is located in a community of fine homes and in addition to the views this home offers from the master bedroom upstairs and the picture window in the living room, a walk to the community park, clubhouse and tennis court reveals spectacular views along the way. Look out across the shipping channel with the Coupeville ferry crossing to Pt Townsend and the cascade mountain range forming a lovely background. Escape to paradise. This home accommodates large groups nicely.
