It was built in 2008. Looks like one huge house, but it’s actually a main house (occupied by the owners) and a Guest House. The Guest House is connected to the main house but totally private. The Guest House is the log home vacation rental and is quite unique. In addition, a fully furnished basement apartment that sleeps 3 is available for larger families or possibly friends who want to vacation together but not necessarily live together. The apartment is offered at a discounted rate. Overall, Garnerland is set up for two very nice vacation rentals. Comes included with Don and Bj Garner & two furry kids.
ABOUT THE LOG HOME VACATION RENTAL (Guest House)
The ramp leads you to the Guest House rental door, where above it is a green sign: A HAPPY PLACE. Indeed it is. There are several placards on the porch… each is an ode to a loved one(s).
There’s a private screened-in porch for you with a table and chairs, and a huge open deck if you prefer to lean on the railing. The door has a keypad lock; changed with each new renter.
It’s an open kitchen/living room floor plan. It is completely furnished. All wood interior. There’s a beautiful stone fireplace that works at the push of a button and a 40 inch Flat Screen TV.
Feng shui alone makes you relaxed.
The bedroom has a queen size bed, one dresser, a 32 inch TV and a large closet. In the unique loft is a king size bed and two singles. All the beds are comfortable and everybody gets two pillows and an extra blanket.
The kitchen has modern appliances and a big island counter that seats two; a café table that seats two. Dishes, cookware, eating & cooking utensils are provided.
The bathroom boasts a 6’-long whirl-pool tub (hold on when jets are used!) Towels, toilet paper, soap & shampoo are provided; if you need more, look in the closet. There is a safety bar at the tub & toilet for those who need them.
You have your own laundry room. Detergent is provided. There’s a large rack to hang your clothes on.

~ Available at a per mile rate fee: a Harley Davidson Softtail motorcycle.
~ Pets are welcome if you’re sure they’d get along with our very friendly, sociable, well-trained dogs. Don and Bj – property owners – are friendly, sociable & well-trained too.
~ We believe in the Golden Rule and expect that of others.
~ Last but not least, we don’t smoke, but if you do, please smoke outside.
ABOUT LURAY
Luray is the near the entrance to Skyline Drive.
The town’s close proximity to the Shenandoah River provides recreational opportunities connected with boating, white water rafting, and fishing as well as hunting in the fall. Of course, the Caverns are the main attraction. Exploring it is an awe-inspiring-there-is-a-God experience.
Luray has a small-town-USA feel to it; the shops and restaurants along Main St. are cozy and quaint, the people friendly.
Favorite places for kids, besides the caverns: the zoo, Lake Arrowhead, Imagination Station (huge park in town), Yogi Bear Park. a bowling alley and feeding the ducks at Hawksbill Creek – a very popular walking/jogging trail that intersects with Main Street. There are flyers on the kitchen counter for you.
There are several shops on Main Street – all worth checking-out – because the merchandise is a heck of a lot more interesting than Walmart’s… And several places to eat from the upscale Mimslym Inn to good ole Hardees. It’s great to eat in town and walk straight to the Hawksbill Greenway.
Just exploring Luray, and the neighboring small towns, taking it all in, one way or another, is worth it.
