Did I mention a stone fire pit out front to cuddle by or roast marshmallows? Ahhhh! 'Refuge' is a 24' x 28' authentic log cabin complete with a tin roof to enjoy that occasional, mid-summer afternoon rain! Situated within walking distance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Boundary line and made of white-pine timber with tall cathedral ceilings and exposed beams, this one-room, studio concept cabin has you feeling snug and cuddly. Yet the design with plenty of windows for viewing the woodlands out back gives you a wide-open feeling of being right out there with nature. Next to the candle-lit, romantic Jacuzzi for two awaits your super comfortable king bed complete with feather topper. Should you choose to bring company, they can rest on the 'Snuggler' ‌ a fancy name for a sofa-sleeper and the kids can sleep in the three sleeping bags we provide in the loft area. Can't seem to take a week off without Fido? Well bring him/her along! 'Refuge' is pet friendly .. woof! We simply ask that your pet be old enough to know where to do potty and not chew on our stuff. Also, if he/she is allowed on the furniture at home, please bring a couple of throws for the sofa and comforter.. thanks. Oh, and one more thing, these loveable creatures really tend to shed. You are probably used to it, but it makes me sneeze. Would it be too much to ask to pamper the little ball of fur in preparation for vacation and have him/her taken to the vet for a grooming (or at least a good brushing by the master at hand before departure)? Thanks again!The unique ambience of this mountain oasis is undoubtedly the ability to listen to the rush of the Little River as you rock your cares away. A marshmallow roast over the cozy fire pit ends your perfect day. Combine that with being able to hike down the private lane and step across the Park boundary and you'll find yourself wanting to explore again and again. You will even ford a little waterfall that crosses the lane as you venture out and take in nature's bounty! Townsend has a three mile bike trail, a fly fishing school, occasional bluegrass/molasses festivals, gorgeous mountain golf greens with swimming pool access, nice dining, hiking trails, horseback riding, gobs of tubing opportunities, and is within seven miles of historic Cades Cove. You're only 18 miles from Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, music theaters, outlet malls, and activities of all sorts.
