This 720 sf. authentic log cabin borders the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and boasts over 400 sf. of screened-in porch, complete with hot tub for your ultimate relaxation. You will enjoy high cathedral ceilings with a two-story glass window front, a cozy living, dining and kitchen area complete with full sized appliances, including all the amenities to complete a delicious meal for two or more. Dishwasher, icemaker, washer and dryer included. Not to mention the comfy queen bed and whirlpool awaiting your romantic rendezvous.Within walking distance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park boundary line, this unique cabin sits up high making you feel like 'king of the mountain'up where the eagles fly. Actually, just a couple of geese, playfully named 'Ned' and 'Jed'. They make their trek daily taking the route of the river bed. Listen and you'll hear them 'conversing' as they fly over. Or just sit and rock on your spacious balcony with the Little Mountain in the distance and marvel at the 'smoke' boiling over the tall range, thus giving the Great Smokey Mountains their name... awesome! This dream cabin is one of the four closest to historic Cades Cove where you'll have to slow down a bit to let the dear and occasional Mamma bear and cubs pass in front of you. Visit the old school house, a mill, etc. and imagine the way things were way back when...In a small, peaceful town like ours, you may have to 'settle' for laid back activities such as hiking, horseback riding, touring the magnificent Smokies, spelunking, geocaching, naturist sightseeing, bluegrass, daylily and old-timer craft festivals, and the most popular being floating a tube for hours on end! The Little River runs the entire length of Townsend (you can walk to it from here) and we are proud to have a three mile bike/walking trail ... lighted! A new and very popular arrival to our little town is the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center and I'll see that you get FREE tickets to tour, just ask! Ahhhh.... relaxation for a change!
