Went for a work conference at the Opryland and was able to really enjoy a peaceful stay each day after the conference! Neighborhood is very friendly and Jack is available if needed but respects privacy. Was able to use a kayak for the fist time and loved it! Recommending to everyone and will definitely return from Arizona for a getaway soon!

Had a great stay!

Had our boat there and the dock was good...and convenient location. Cabin was clean. Very quiet neighborhood. We will be back! Owner was very accommodating!

Loved the Lake House!

We really enjoyed waking up each morning to the beautiful scenery! The house is right on the lake and there are big windows on the back wall of the house. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need - even a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine! We enjoyed BBQing on the back deck and also sitting out there in the morning with a cup of coffee, just enjoying the scenery. We loved our time there and wish we could have stayed longer. We drove to the Hermitage and in to Nashville but the best day we had was when we relaxed at the house, enjoyed the scenery, and my husband and daughter enjoyed canoeing around the lake. Great place to stay!

Beautiful and relaxing

We had a wonderful stay at the lake house. We particularly enjoyed kayaking and just relaxing on the porch swing overlooking the water. Sandy was a gracious and accommodating host.

Outstanding Weekend

We had a great weekend, lucky for us they held the Cigarette Boat Rally on the lake while we were there. All the boats from the rally parked at two foot Saturday. The house was easy to find, well maintained with a boat dock on two foot. Just a wonderful weekend for four adults and our dog. We will return again ASAP!!!!!!

A magical place to relax and unwind

The cottage has a warm welcoming feel with lake views and a big patio to just chill and relax. Sandy's sweet dogs entertained us as well as the baby birds under the patio. Momma bird fed them and slept close by watching her babies. it was an experience to see. We enjoyed watching the huge barge carrying supplies up the river. Big trees with a warm breeze, watching the ducks and other animals. We heard thru the "grapevine" Sandy bought this house from Dolly Parton! Nashville is less than 30 minutes away, close enough to drive to yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Loved our visit and a huge thanks to sandy for making us feel welcome in his charming cottage.

Picture perfect place

Loved it! Enjoyed watching the boats, the tugboat pushing the barges, the beautiful sunsets and even watching the dog chase the squirrels . Had a blast fishing from the dock. Got to enjoy morning coffee on the porch with the beautiful view of the river. Close drive to Walmart, Krogers and not a far drive to downtown Nashville. For downtown take Lebanon Pike which is HWY 70, takes you straight in without dealing with the interstate. Sandy was great too! Very helpful!! Would definitely rent again!!!!

This is an amazing property. I live in Chicago but my mother lives in TN, wanted to give her a little change of scenery for Mother's Day. We couldn't have picked a better place to spend quality time with my mother and family. Has everything you could ask for in the kitchen and more. We had a great time and will book again.

Great Vacation!

We LOVED our vacation at Sandy's house. It was just right for us and our teenage daughter. I wish we could attach photos of the beautiful sunsets we enjoyed sitting on the porch swing. We stayed 5 nights and wished we would have stayed longer. It is a quick drive to downtown and other local attractions and sites. The kitchen is equipped with everything anyone could need (even a crock pot and milk shake blender). The house was very clean and comfortable. We were thrilled to find that everything looked exactly like the photographs on VRBO. Sandy was GREAT! Answered all our questions about various things including renting a pontoon. The house is located behind another building so at first, we didn't see it, but the other building didn't bother us because we didn't notice it while we were in the lake house. We enjoyed it so much, we are recommending it to other friends and family that we know visit Nashville frequently! When we mentioned to Sandy that we were spending the last few days with family near Franklin, he offered many suggestions for things to do and see there, too. GREAT GUY! We also recommend eating at the Nashville Jam Cafe (which is very close). It looks like a shack but has the most amazing food!!! We will stay here again!

Perfect getaway!

Sandy's house is perfect for a lake getaway. The house is right on the water, with a dock and a sandbar directly out from the house. It has all the necessary amenities for cooking, grilling, sleeping, etc. The house is located in a neighborhood, but we had no issues with the neighbors as everyone keeps to themselves. Very comfortable, quiet and quaint!

Lovely Lakehouse

My daughter and I spent 5 wonderful days at Sandy's lake home in May. The house is lovely and very clean. There is a covered porch with a fabulous view of the lake. The yard feels even more spacious with no fences between neighbors. There were many birds in the morning from cardinals to ducks. We drove into Nashville city several times, an easy jaunt on the highway. We made use of the offered kayaks, which Sandy brought down to the water's edge for us. A close place to eat with great food is Nashville Jam Cafe - awesome shrimp and grits. I can't say a thing about the TV as we never felt the need to stay inside! I would absolutely stay here again.

Nice home on Old Hickory Lake!

We stayed at Hickory Lake House the first week of June 2016 to celebrate our anniversary and my husband's birthday. Sitting on the large covered porch was perfect to relax while taking in the beautiful views of the lake. The porch is also fenced, a nice feature for our dog. There is a gas and charcoal grill. The home is very clean and updated. Everything is comfortable and just as the pictures show. Owner Sandy, is easy to reach if needed, he wants to be sure everything is going well but gives you privacy. The neighbors are friendly but also respect your privacy. We had our boat and there is a pier to tie up to. Boat launch is a couple miles away, easy to launch. The sandbar everyone stops at is out from the house. Lots of fun on the lake. Great sunsets from the pier! We took uber to downtown nashville one night, that worked out very well. I would highly recommend Sandy and his home. We will stay again when we are in the area.
