There is a full kitchen, one bathroom, (now with soft water), one bedroom with a queen bed, a large loft with a queen bed, a single bed, and a bean bag bed. There is also 2 sofas and a futon for sleeping.
The cabin has a nice parking area for your vehicles.
There is a good place to set up a tent on the property. So if tenting is something you enjoy, bring one along.
On the property is a firepit so you can sit around and have good conversations, or just relax and enjoy some s'mores.
The cabin is just steps from the water on one of the best walleye and perch fishing lakes in the area.
Bring your own boat and use the dock and boatlift during your stay. There is also a paddle boat to use for your convenience. There are several places on the lake that rent jet skis, boats, and pontoons.
Dock fishing can be exceptional, or enjoy the 26 miles of lake with your own boat. There is also a fish cleaning station on the lake.
Big Stone City is a quaint little town only 2 miles from the cabin so if you need supplies you are only minutes away. If you can't find what you need there, Ortonville is only a mile from Big Stone City.
There are state parks on Big Stone Lake for hiking, swimming, and there is a biking trail that goes into the wildlife management area, so bring your bikes along.
If you are an avid golfer, Ortoville has an 18 hole golf course that is one of the nicest in the area.
It is very peaceful in the Chautauqua area where the cabin is located. There is not a drive through road so besides the awesome view of the lake and the fantastic fishing it is also a very quiet area.
Remember to bring your camera, besides the awesome views, you will want to photograph the wildlife in the area
