Bushkill Creek Waterfront Chalet

Details

Home Description

This two story Chalet is solid redwood and sits on the Big Bushkill creek and has the view and water sounds that make you get up early; get your coffee, and sit on the upper deck, and just enjoy. There is an out door fire pit right next to the Bushkill creek where it just does not get any better for fireside evenings with friends or family. May, June and July are great for floating down creek with tubes, fishing and swimming.

The full service kitchen, master bedroom, and big family room are all upstairs. A wall of glass doors lets the view into the family room.

Down stairs there is two other bed rooms, T V and game set up and a professional pool table. Another wall of glass lets the view blend into the room. You can find contact on profile till they block it. The Bushkill Chalet will soon have its own site.

It is a very cozy clean antique home

It was a very relaxing family vacation. The creek is visible from most of the house. It was the biggest draw. We could not get enough of the sound and the scenery.

Perfect Weekend with Family!

We arrived here July 2, 2016 to spend the 4th of July weekend with my family and fiance. I have to admit, my parents had many questions before booking and arrival that Harris answered promptly. Upon arrival, he greeted us to give us a tour of the place. The place was BEAUTIFUL! The creek is just a few steps away and we woke up to the sound of the waters each morning. The huge deck on the second floor that wraps around the entire second floor provided all 8 of us plenty of space. My grandma and parents enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the early hours of the morning before heading out to sight seeing to near by Bushkill falls. Harris also provided us with four fishing rods and tubes for the creek. The water seemed shallow to go tubing and we tried fishing but with no luck - but being from NYC we don't have much patience. It's not a 5 star hotel, but it definitely has it's amenities that make it very homey. It was a home away from home. Also, I did not know there was a hammock but we did enjoy an hour or two enjoying the view and relaxing on it. We definitely over packed, so a word of advice, all pots and pans and silverware are provided as well as paper goods; even basic cooking ingredients. You literally have to just bring your food, drinks, clothes, towels and personal hygiene products. My first time on VRBO but I am so happy we chose this place. One of the nights it was very loud with constant fire works nearby but that is understandable since it was a holiday weekend. If situation allows, I would love to visit again, either with family or with friends. He provided us with more than enough paper goods and firewood, as well as live bait for fishing. We had the fire going in the pit most of the time throughout our stay, except when we went to bed. He has a few rules, but nothing too strict, things that make sense and would follow in your own home. I would recommend and stay over and over again! Thank you again Harris for your hospitality.

Perfect location for a quiet summer stay

Harris met us personally, explained everything, was very kind to provide us with fishing rods and even some bate! There is basic equipment in the house. Nothing fancy, but pretty much everything you'll need. The house is well maintained and cared for. We especially loved the pool, the fire pit, the hammock and the veranda equipped with recliner bed, table, chairs and gas BBQ. The place is extremely quiet and the creek is just a few steps away. I didn't catch the trout, but I've seen it. Lovely place! Oh, and it's just 15 minutes drive from nearby attractions like Booshkill waterfalls, Appalachian trail, rental places for bikes, kayaks etc., groceries, restaurants and even a local movieplex...
