House The quaint canyon below has over five natural spring heads. A small house covers one of the natural springs, where water comes to the surface of the ground, to protect it from the elements. It is very rare to find a home with such a natural and pure source of mountain water. We elected to build our own cabinets instead of buying factory made. A little 'funky', but they add to the theme of the home, which is rustic, natural and local. This custom home was built over a five year period by design; meaning it evolved as it was being built. The Interior is all wood harvested and milled by local mountain mills. The ceilings are Poplar, walls - Pine and Hemlock, floors Oak with Birch bannisters and Birch log accents. One can see faces in the knots of the wood, or how voracious the poplar trees draw minerals up from the ground with their long warm streaks. The Appliances consist of a four door Kitchenaid Refrigerator with ice maker and filtered exterior water dispensers , whirlpool microwave oven, Whirlpool electric stove and Kitchenaid dishwasher as well as a deep single basin white porcelain Kohler sink and faucet.
Both bedrooms have King size poster and sleigh beds. Each bath has it's own private access. The Master bedroom has a walk-in closet, two adjoining sinks, marble shower, and separate Kohler Cast iron tub.
The walls of the home are six inches thick, which helps to eliminate exterior noise and reduce utility usage.
There is a 10 x 33 foot deck to the rear of the home that overlooks a natural spring pool and the tree lined canyon.
This home is located between several gated communities which offer their amenities to those interested in experiencing them in an area referred to as 'The land of waterfalls'; golfing, dining, tennis, hiking, sightseeing are all within easy driving distance.
Some of the highlights are Gorges State Park; a beautifully newly developed visitors center and hiking area. White Water Falls, the tallest waterfall in the North Carolina, is ten minutes down the road. Sapphire National Golf course and the Sapphire Brewing Company restaurant are within minutes as well as downtown Cashiers and Highlands, in this tree lined mountain community.
Sapphire Resorts offers skiing in winter and outdoor concerts in summer. Cashiers and Highlands both have free concerts in the park on Fridays with many local and acclaimed artists.
Brevard is down the mountain and hosts several local art shows, music festivals, and has a world class music center where world renown artists like Yo Yo Ma often perform.
A local trout farms is just down the road also, where adults and kids can catch trout.
In October there is the Leaf Festival in downtown Cashiers held early to mid October. The Festival has many artisans and vendors, food court and constant music playing on three stages. All free of charge.
Lake Glenville, the largest and highest elevation lake in North Carolina is within easy driving distance. Boat rentals of all shapes and sizes are available.

Next to the 'House of love' is the Historic Raspberry Salon' which is the world's only all natural spring water salon featuring River, from Los Angeles, Ca., who is a Goldwell color specialist. Pedicures and manicures are also available as well as massage.
Across the street there is a local gem mining vendor who offers ice cream and goodies during the summer months as well as sleuthing for stones.
Several local restaurants are open to the public from a very high end clientele, such as the Greystone Inn at Lake Toxaway or the Gamekeeper (which offers wild caught fowl, buffalo, deer, etc.) Other establishments just minutes away are The Brown Trout, Chestnut Cafe (American), Amores, Osteria (Italian), to mention only a few.
