Details

Home Description

Get away from Atlanta, Charlotte, Florida, or anywhere else in our upscale mountain retreat. The secluded residence has delicately manicured landscaping, an enormous great room with floor-to-ceiling windows, and is surrounded by the woods, the sound of birds, and the babble of a nearby brook. Minutes from Whisper Lake and high atop the area mountains, you'll find yourself secluded in the Nantahala National Forest. Your nearest neighbor be out of sight yet, but you'll be just 10-15 minutes from beautiful Cashiers.
This luxurious log cabin is ideal for up to six people / three couples. It has been completely decorated with comfort and relaxation in mind. Set at 3,280 feet above sea level, this luxurious 3 bed, 2.5 bath location has a simple yet elegant decor and all the creature comforts. Enjoy both Whisper Lake and Sapphire amenities, hike through nearby trails, enjoy Lake Glenville, go into town for shopping and dining - or stay at the cabin and and enjoy the cool, crisp air on the patio.

Enjoy a fire and listen to music on our extra-deep couch or watch either DirecTV on the 54" flatscreen mounted over the fireplace. All three bedrooms feature queen size beds with their own flatscreen televisions, "Pottery Barn-meets-rustic-antique" style, and plush bedding. The master bathroom features both a shower and a jet-bathtub and his-and-hers vanities. Another full bathroom is upstairs and a powder-room is downstairs. Listen to your favorite music throughout the house on our Sonos sound system. You're also welcome to use our AppleTV and Netflix accounts. Six to eight people can dine in the dining room and another two at the island in the kitchen. The kitchen features a gas stove and is stocked with all the spices, dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils that we've been able to imagine that you'll need. We've also stocked the cabin with games for both young and old (Monopoly, Risk, Scrabble, Sequence, Boggle, Sorry, Battleship, Yatzee, Cards against Humanity, Never Have I Ever, Phase Ten, Family Feud, Sequence, and Poker).

Our guests can enjoy both Whisper Lake and Sapphire Valley Master Association amenities (some with a small fee), including access to Red Bird and Sapphire National golf courses, private lake access, canoe rental, fitness center, hot tub, pool, arcade, kayaking, zip line, tennis, miniature golf, and more.

The wraparound deck provides stunning views for 270° with plentiful seating for the entire crew as well as a pathway down to a private creek. We're also adding a fire pit and a hammock in early 2017. But the beauty of the Nantahala isn't confined to just our corner of the forest - so we've taken the time to outline our favorite hikes and waterfalls. We also provide our guests with our own reviews and recommendations for local restaurants, area houses of worship, nearby shopping, and services.

A lovely cabin getaway!

I'm so glad we were able to spend a whole week here to relax and enjoy the Cashiers area. Aspen Ridge is super comfortable and well appointed, with an easy drive to Cashiers and great restaurants. We highly recommend The Library in Sapphire Resort. And Rich was just fantastic at answering all our questions about the property and getting additional info on where to take our dog hiking and swimming.

It was clean, beautifully decorated

I could not have asked for anything better. I had recently experienced a loss and needed to get away. The home with it's beautiful stone fireplace, honey colored wooden walls and overstuffed sofas was warm and inviting. The gourmet kitchen was fully equipped as was the master suite, perfect with it's down comforter and jacuzzi tub (just one small complaint, the hot water did not last long enough to fill the tub passed the jets). If hot baths are not important to you then no big deal. The Sonos sound system throughout the house was big a bonus!!! As for the exterior, there was a wonderful wraparound deck with sofa and chairs where you could enjoy the the majestic tall trees and peaceful surroundings. You really did feel like you were away from it all. The owner also provided information on things to do in the area, such as visiting the many waterfalls and hiking trails, restaurants and shops. He was very attentive making sure I had everything I needed when I arrived and being available immediately when I had a question or concern. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely go back. Thank you Rich again for opening your lovely home.

This cabin is beautifully decorated

My family stayed at the cabin this summer with our 4 and 6 year old. We were amazed that we could feel so relaxed while just a few hours outside of a big city. Our kids loved being able to explore outside, especially looking at the amazing stars. The couch was amazing. It was perfect for a family movie and a nap. There were tons of games and movies! We didn't have time to explore the swimming but we were happy to see a puddle jumper available if we had. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and loved our breakfasts on the porch. The owners, who certainly left their personal touch throughout the cabin, took special care to provide as much information as possible for the surrounding areas including restaurants, churches, activities etc... We will absolutely be visiting again. We were so fortunate to find this little gem! Thank you for letting us rent your amazing space!

Nice relaxing home

This home is very well equipped and extremely comfortable place to relax, unwind and enjoy the NC mountain air. The hosts are very responsive and are a pleasure to deal with. The home is what the photos show and the kitchen is very nicely equipped as well.It is located on a quiet cul de sac but still close to many fine restaurants like Table 64 in Sapphire and the nice spots in Cashiers. They have a nice whole home stereo system and a new outdoor barbeque which is great! Our family will return

Perfect for a Relaxing Long Weekend

A group of 6 looking to get away from the Altanta heat, we could not have been more happy with this cabin. I think I could've spent the entire weekend on the most comfortable couch I've ever laid down on (no exaggeration) in front of the fire, but there are some great restaurants in nearby Cashiers, so we explored some as well. The property sits on its own private cul de sac, so you feel like you're in the middle of the woods, but with all the comforts of home and a short drive to town. Comfortable? Check Privacy? Check Just what we needed? Check check

So many personal touches

As you approach the cabin, you quickly realize it's not a "rental." The owners obviously spend a lot of time here, and they devote considerable funding and effort maintaining and landscaping their mountain home. The setting is tranquil. It's located inside a charming community, and it's the only residence on a short cul-de-sac street. The property is completely surrounded by wooded acreage full of birds and other wildlife. Property access is easy no matter the season - paved from highway to driveway. There's a short, straight, graded gravel driveway right up to the huge wrap-around porch. Well-built and clear stairs out back take you down to a quaint stream - great for kids to play and imagine. First impression upon entering the cabin is upscale and impeccably clean. The attention to detail is impressive - looks like the home is staged by an experienced broker for presentation to discerning buyers. This is a mountain home retreat complete with all modern amenities, including a Nest thermostat and Sonos sound system controlled by an iPad in the kitchen. The kitchen appliances and washer/dryer are upscale and fully functional. The gas range includes a dual-purpose center burner. Again - not a "rental!" There are tons of kitchen accessory items, including a large crock pot with liners, spices, olive oil, and every utensil you'd want. The owners provide abundant dinnerware, flatware, mugs, and glasses. Don't hit the grocery store until you've surveyed the kitchen! The bedroom furniture is high-quality, including reasonably firm mattresses and extremely comfortable bedding. The bathrooms are stocked with soft upscale towels and quality soaps. The master bath includes a jetted tub, enclosed shower with detailed tile work, two sinks separated by the shower, and padded rugs. Owner communication is thorough and immediate. We felt the owners genuinely wanted to ensure we enjoyed our stay. They provided several offerings and tips to enhance our experience, including notes regarding access to trails and sights that are not generally known to non-locals. We sincerely appreciated their efforts.
