Great Family Vacation

We spent a week at Bison Overlook and the entire family enjoyed the stay. The grandchildren loved the goats and miniature ponies! The home was comfortable and clean. The lower level is filled with game tables to entertain both the children and the adults. We are already talking about returning in the fall.

Holidays in Heaven

We just spent the past several days in Bison Overlook Lodge and we couldn't be more pleased. The log cabin is absolutely beyond words. When I walked in, the first thing I saw was the amazing, huge Christmas tree in the great room. After looking all around, it showed that someone took the time to decorate with detail. It was tastefully done and added to the holiday spirit. Besides the holiday decorations, the decor of the lodge was lovely from the pictures, the accent pillows, the knickknacks to the bedding, etc... You need nothing for comfort as the home has it all. The kitchen is fully stocked and I was able to cook each meal without missing anything. In fact, I think the drawers were better equipped than in my own home. The view from every window is breathtaking. The property does not feel like a rental; it feels like a home. Each night we had a nice fire so we could keep the heater off (or very low). The fire heated the entire house. We spent an afternoon in the hot tub that was perfect to warm the bones and relax a tired body after hiking the many trails all around. I loved that each morning the goats and mini horses came straight to our back balcony until we came out to pet them and of course, take many pictures of them. Every now and then, a baby would get out of the fence and I had to push him back through to his side. The bison are simply an attraction that one never grows tired of seeing, especially each morning at the feeding area. If you are looking a for a get-away, then look no further. You have found a piece of Heaven. Speaking of which, look up on a clear night and be amazed by the night sky. Truly a spectacular display! THANK YOU for the perfect mini-vacation. My only complaint: NOT being able to stay longer. Next time I will plan better in advance to book for a much longer time.

Thanksgiving at Bison Overlook Lodge

My family and I just spent the most wonderful Thanksgiving together at Bison Overlook Lodge. The cabin had everything we needed including pots, pans, and casserole dishes to make a proper Thanksgiving feast, a crib and swing for our baby, toys for our toddler, and a kennel for our dogs. There is something for everyone to do and enjoy. My toddler loved walking to the playground and feeding the goats and miniature horses that walked right up to the fence in our backyard everyday, the adults enjoyed relaxing on the porch (I swung with my baby in the hammock swing every day) or in the hot tub and taking in the beautiful views all around. The level backyard makes playing with kids and dogs easy and fun. I highly recommend walking down to see the buffalo get fed at least once while you're there. It's exciting to see these amazing creatures up close, and you get to meet the friendly ranch dogs Frisbee and Cody. We were also lucky enough to meet Harold and Harriet who are so nice and spent some time with us telling stories about the history of the ranch and their plans for its future. Cheryl is super helpful and quick to respond if you have a question. We felt like our family spent Thanksgiving surrounded by family. No one wanted to leave, and my toddler shed tears over having to say goodbye to "the buffalo house." It was an incredible vacation. Our family will be back many more times!

Amazing cabin

This cabin was perfect, it is exactly as described, the kitchen is well stocked, it has everything that you need to prepare your meals, all beds in all rooms are really comfortable, the living room was nice(it has satellital tv, internet, movies, books) but to be honest we did not spend much time in the living room, we were out enjoying the views and nice weather, watching the animals, grilling our food and later having a great time around the fire pit. The play room inside the cabin is also great, you can be there a lot of time and you will not realize how long you have been there, there are also some toys for toddlers to play. The play area is also really nice and the "hicking"(5-10 mins walking) to get there is great too. The only bad thing I can think of about this trip is that we stayed here only 1 night, in the moment we left we were already planning on getting back and we will hopefully soon. Cheryl was great in providing all we need. Overall Awesome!! :)

Greatest vacation at Bison Overlook Lodge

I just can say that a week was not enough for my family. This place is so amazing that we didn't want to leave. My kids loved the cabin, specially the playroom. We live in Miami and that was the first time for my children in a place where nature is everything. I really recommend it if you want to get away from the noise and stress. Buffalo Creek Vacation is just a few miles from Asheville. The cabin was equipped with Cable TV and WiFi Internet. If you really want to disconnect, all you have to do is turn the devices off.

Great Family Getaway

Our time at Bison Overlook was Awesome!!! The views were amazing, kitchen stocked well, game room was great. The cabin is in between Maggie Valley and Asheville, which was perfect for everything we had planned. We had animals visit us in the back yard while hanging around the firepit and enjoying the amazing weather. Would definitely recommend this place for an great getaway!
