The definition of Bittersweet is a “sense of pleasure tinged with sadness.” This might be how you’ll feel when your stay ends and you must head back to the routine.
This warm and welcoming home is located approximately 15 minutes north-east of Downtown Asheville, 15 minutes from Black Mountain, 15 minutes to gates of Biltmore Estate, 20 minutes to UNC Asheville, 4 minutes to Warren Wilson College, 5 minutes to an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 30 minutes to AVL Regional Airport. It is very close to groceries, gas, restaurants, and some of the BEST homemade ice cream you’ve ever eaten!
The owners do not permit events of any type, or size, to be held at their home.
Upon its approach, Bittersweet sits prominently up on your left. It’s artisan shutters and drip chains, professional landscaping; reveal this is no ordinary home. But, you are in for an extraordinary experience.
As you enter, you’ll discover a Vintage French Industrial look, with unique touches, comfortable furnishings, and warm tones. No detail has been overlooked for the comfort of our guests, right down to the cozy bathrobes.
Bittersweet boasts 4 king bedrooms, each with its own private en-suite tile bath; dual sinks, and resort style glass door enclosed showers, plush towels and blow dryers. You’ll sleep soundly on Tempur-Breeze Cooling mattresses with high-end linens and bedding, 4 king down pillows, complete with down comforters to snuggle under. Each bedroom has a flat panel TV discretely hidden behind custom cabinetry.
Outfitted with high-end stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops, the open kitchen with dining area is the hub of the house, and a wonderful place to enjoy a meal together. The large dining table comfortably seats 8 guests in deliciously upholstered distressed brown leather chairs, bringing in elegance and comfort.
The den with flat panel TV, just off the kitchen, has several conversation areas allowing all to gather and visit to plan the next day. Or, sneak off to the living room, with another flat panel TV, to watch your special show, read a book, or have a quiet conversation in the comfy overstuffed wing chairs.
The outdoor space is AMAZING! At the center of it all is a large waterfall with the calming sound of falling water to add to the ambiance. The semi enclosed dining area, with flat panel TV, lends a bit of elegance to outdoor dining and is perfect for those days when the weather just isn’t cooperating. The covered outdoor area boasts a wood burning fireplace, flat panel TV, refrigerator, sink, gas grill, and more comfortable seating. This is everyone’s favorite place to be! Just off this area is also a wood burning fire pit.
