A guest recently said “What an amazing cabin! We couldn’t stop gasping!” and that is exactly how we felt the first time we saw this special cabin. It was love at first sight!
From your first step inside, prepare to be greeted with an inexplicable peacefulness and you truly just never want to leave. The cathedral ceiling towers above the cozy great room and the wood burning fireplace invites you to sink down on the sumptuous sofa or put your feet up on the plush recliner. A 40” flat screen HDTV and DVD/VCR are ready for your enjoyment. Cable TV and wireless internet are provided and a desk is conveniently located in the great room. A stereo is offered with numerous CDs from country music to classical relaxation to Rock Ballads of the 70s. Lots of movies and some games are supplied. What a great place to snuggle in after a busy day in Branson…or better yet…forget the busy day and stay in your “jammies” all day at the cabin. Build a fire, grab a throw, and forget your troubles. They are far away from this tranquil setting.
Winter is a popular time to stay here because there are fewer activities in Branson and more time to rest and relax right here. In the spring, enjoy the enchanted woods both in front and in back of the cabin. Beautiful Dogwoods are scattered about underneath the tall Oaks and other trees. Fall is beyond compare in the Ozarks and this cabin is the perfect place to enjoy it as the leaves change to their final fiery phase of glory before winter. In the summer, enjoy the outdoor trails around the cabin and the pools that are a short walk away. A play area is also located near one of the pools and near a covered pavilion. Listen for the train whistle at Silver Dollar City.
In the kitchen, you will find dishes, glasses, silverware, pots and pans, utensils, and some spices, Also provided are a coffeepot with coffee and filters, a blender, toaster, crockpot, belgian waffle maker, griddle, and a dishwasher. A charcoal grill and a propane grill are provided. A washer/dryer is available right off the bedroom so don’t worry about taking home dirty clothes. An iron and small ironing board are also provided.
Off the great room is a large, screened-in porch with a glider rocker and a patio table with seating for 4. Glide your cares away as you gaze into the pristine Ozark woods. You feel like you’re in a treehouse! The porch is a great place for morning coffee or a cozy supper. In the summer, the symphony of night insects rivals any of the Branson shows and can sooth your frazzled nerves with their harmonies.
The bathroom is spacious and marvelous. It has an entrance from the great room and one from the bedroom. A double sink is provided. Our newest addition was installing a roomy new shower. It is finished with magnificent slate tile and the floor is done in a distinctive pebble tile that spills out into the bathroom floor. We love it!! A jetted tub is also available in the master bedroom. Candles and bubble bath provided!
When you’re ready to retire for the night, a special treat awaits you in our unique master bedroom. Turn on the black light for about 30 minutes, then when the room is totally dark, watch the constellations of stars appear on the soaring cathedral ceiling! The sensation is truly indescribable! And the best part is that you are watching it all in the comfort of a luxurious king sized bed with an amazing Simmons Beautyrest mattress. With the astonishing star show, you may not need it, but a 32” flat screen TV and DVD player are also provided in the bedroom.
Parking is right at the front door. With wooded views from the front and back, you surely feel like you are in a “little cabin in the big woods.” Don’t worry though, civilization is close by and the cabins on either side often have guests, too. Everyone loves this cabin and I know you will too.
HOME OF GREAT OUTDOORS CABIN AND CABIN DREAMS
Notch Estates is a wonderfully pleasant little community of condos and cabins that is surrounded by 130 acres of unspoiled natural beauty. Notch Lane is the only street in the community and follows along the top of the ridge, affording magnificent views on both sides. The lane is bordered on both sides by modest condos, some of which are nightly rentals and many are the homes of full-time residents. It is one of the friendliest places you will find! People are always outside enjoying a walk around the complex or visiting with neighbors.
The location of Notch Estates is about 8 miles west of Branson on Hwy 76. It takes about 10 minutes from the cabins to the beginning of the 76 strip. It is about 1 mile past the Indian Point intersection going to Silver Dollar City. You can leave the cabin and be at the parking lot of Silver Dollar City in about 5 minutes. (Since we are west of the Indian Point intersection, we do not have to contend with all the traffic coming out of Branson. Super great deal!!) Several Marinas are within 15 minutes where you can launch your own boat or you can rent a boat for the day. If you do bring your boat, Notch offers a free parking area for our guests. The Tablerock State Park is about 20 minutes away.
As you travel down Notch Lane, you will find a pool on either side of the lane. The first one is a deeper pool, 3-8 feet deep and is surrounded by a large sunbathing deck. The large pavilion is a great place for those large family gatherings. Grills are close by. A great play area is near the pavilion and pool. If you travel on down the street, there is another pool, more shallow, 2-5 feet, with a zero entry side. The views are breathtaking! Shepherd of the Hills tower is just across the holler. A brand new pavilion area is also available beside this pool. The lane forks just before you come to the cabins and in the center is an awesome basketball goal.
The cabins are located to the left of this basketball goal and the mood changes as you veer to the left where Notch Lane becomes Chandler Lane - home of the cabins. The row of cabins in the woods is your destination! Our Great Outdoors Cabin is 53 Chandler Lane and Cabin Dreams is 69 Chandler Lane, the second from the end. The cabins are surrounded by the amazing Ozark woods! The end of the lane is the beginning of one of the nature trails around the complex. You are surrounded by unspoiled grandeur! The cabins at Notch truly offers a secluded feeling in a safe, wooded setting.
Exploring around the cabins is great physical exercise and nothing clears away cluttered minds like a hike in the woods. There are several short trails right around the cabins and the condos so you will never be too far from civilization.
If you are an adventurer - Notch Estates’ best kept secret is a short, 30 minute hike away. Go back up Notch Lane to the designated trail to the Lake. Be prepared—to get there is a fun trip—coming back is a bit more of a challenge!! You will have a new respect for “ HILL”billies after you make the trek back UP that HILL. My Daddy always told us when we were learning to drive, “If you see a sign warning of a HILL in Missouri, it REALLY means HILL!” That warning applies here. Don’t let me scare you away—you can do it! Once you reach the valley, you will know it was worth the trip! A beautiful private lake lies at the bottom and is surrounded with pure, natural, Ozark beauty! Take a seat and relax on the deck and feel your cares vanish away. You can feed the fish or you can catch the fish. (Just return them for the next guests.) Since it is a private lake, as our guests, you are welcome to fish here without a license. The surrounding woods are filled with squirrels, birds, and many other small critters. You very well might see deer or turkey also. It is wonderful place to spend some time away from the business of life and to bask in the creation of an awesome Creator!
Notch Estates is not a flashy resort with all the latest gadgets, but we are proud of its unique, quiet setting . The proximity to the area attractions is great but many guests have confirmed that the best part of their trip to Branson came at the end of a fun day as they returned to quiet, little Notch Estates and one of our special cabins.
Our Great Outdoors Cabin and Cabin Dreams are here at Notch Estates.
