Minimum StayDelightful lakeside cabin
At risk of filling all the vacancies for next summer, this was a lovely cabin. As we entered from the back door we could look directly through the cabin to the large windowed porch/living room that overlooks the lake and dock. Unfortunately, the rain started within the hour. The cabin is well equipped in the kitchen, including a nice spice cabinet that we used to cook four dinners during the week. The three bedrooms and baths allowed for privacy during our morning rituals with both a private suite on the main floor as well as the externally accessed second floor apartment. Had the weather cooperated, we would have been able to enjoy the lake more as there were kayaks and a paddle boat available. While some of our party toured the local wineries, others stayed and watched the weather patterns shift over the lake during the day. The lack of cable/wi-fi fully disconnected us from the outside, but it was nice to get "off the grid", so to speak. There were several flatscreen TVs with DVRs and a broad selection of family appropriate DVDs available for entertainment, but no live television. Cupboards also had games for the rainy days. The overall impression was of grandma's cottage still rustic but modernized in a minimalist way. For touring, the cabin is centrally located in the north allowing easy access to many northern cities and activities. Hopefully, there will be a space left for us again next year.

Our lake home promises wonderful lakeside memories for you and your family. Feeling adventurous? Within walking distance, explore University of Michigan's numerous trails, ski at Michigan's finest resorts, snowmobile miles and miles of terrain. Our favorite cities to visit include Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Macinaw City, and Macinaw Island.
The main floor of our home boasts an open kitchen/family room overlooking the peaceful 4500 acre Douglas Lake. The downstairs kitchen features a dishwasher and fully stocked kitchen supplies. Additionally, there are two bedrooms, two full baths and a washer and dryer on the main floor. The upstairs is like it's own apartment. Loft style, this living space includes a king bed and full kitchen along with a full bathroom. The only access to the upstairs from the outside stairs.
