wonderful place
There is so much to do within a short car ride , you will never be bored that is for sure . The house was cozy and comfortable . The kids found enough to keep them busy even on the one rainy day we had . Thank you Michelle for making this another great family vacation ,

Perfect Property for Extended Family
Our family is not big on touristy locations and this casual cottage just enough off the beaten path fit the bill for our ideal first attempt at a family vacation rental. My extended family, which included 6 adults, five children (ages 4 to 11), and a small dog had plenty of room to spredict out. The guest rooms accommodated our family well. They were clean and included the bedding. The bathrooms were clean only suffering from some hard water stains, which is not uncommon in wells in Michigan. The laundry is on the main floor in the hallway, guest bathroom which we found very convenient. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed for cooking including a coffee pot and griddle for those morning pancakes. The living areas (one up one down) both had large screen tvs and the wifi was reliable. The back patio along with the dining roomtable provided adaquate seating for meals. We found many things to do in the area: visiting 3 different beaches for sun filled days and beautiful sunsets, visited the Dunes, canoed the Lower Platte River and spent a day in Traverse City. We could have spent two weeks and not run out of things to do. The only drawbacks we experienced were the request that the thermostat not be set below 78. For those in the basement sleeping was comfortable, but those upstairs would have preferred it be a bit cooler. We honored the request, but were a bit stuffy at times. Finally, we had a disheartening experience with the owner upon returning home from our trip. We were told that because of pillows that went missing and kayaks that were damaged we would not receive our refund. Neither of these claims were true and we're later rectified and we did receive our deposit back. The experience tainted the trip for some though. All in all a great stay, just be sure to report anything you find amiss during your stay and check the condition on materials (possibly photograph) upon arriving.

Family Vacation with 6 grandkids
House was a short drive to the Dunes, beautiful beaches, spectacular scenery, winery and quaint shops. This house is secluded from "city noise" and the basement was a winner for my 5 grandsons who dont get to see each other often. Sitting by the fire at night, deer were visable in the woods behind the house. Owner made herself available during our stay to answer my calls for those last minute questions. Having traveled to many parts of the world, I assure you will not be disappointed with this property.

Beautiful home
This is the second year my family has stayed in this home, the home is beautiful and very clean. The furniture is very comfortable and the kitchen table is large. The beds are comfortable and the house fits a lot of people. In our group we had 17 people staying here and we were all very comfortable. The house is located in a perfect area, many towns are within driving distance. Our families personal favorites are sleeping bear dunes, glen arbor, traverse city and frankfort. Thank you for offering your home to us for vacation. We will be back again.

Come see why America chose Sleeping Bear Dunes as the most beautiful place in America ! It starts right here at M-22 and the Famous Lazy Ride down South Platte River . It is IMPOSSIBLE to remember the stresses of every day life while you are here !
Up until now it has been called 'The best kept Secret in Benzie County !' In fact a lot of the locals aren't too happy about the publicity ! They know what a rare gem they have had hiding here !
Seeing is believing and I promise you won't be disappointed when you see all this incredible area has to offer ! The Floor plan is very versatile (Total Space over 2000 sq ft w/finished lower level that has 4 ft by 4 ft windows !) and easy to group people together in many different sleeping arrangements, especially with all of the extra space in the brand new finished basement.. But please feel comfortable here ! We have a nice place but it is for vacationing ! Relax ! No fine art Pieces to worry about breaking. This is a place where everybody should feel welcome ! This is not an area filled with tons of shops and tourist traps and trinkets ! Natural Beauty Abounds everywhere and is FREE !
We headed north on one summer vacation many years ago and fell in love with those towering dunes perched along the Northwest side of Lake Michigan towering out from above the edges of the Forests below. This is paradise and we have never grown tired of exploring, walking a new trail or finding a new beach. Traveling just 10 minutes a little more north, south, east or west, whichever way you choose, there is always something new and amazing to discover in this Peninsula.
From your lazy trip down The South Platte River to The infamous Dune Climb up by Glen Lakes.
Don't forget to go to Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive for the most dramatic overlook in America ! Take your time there. Dont rush.
So. Here is our Dream. There is more than enough room and privacy for a small Family Reunion, (we have two full baths and a new finished basement ) or just a quiet getaway for two. The layout is very flexible and acomidate, yet modern. The location (right across from the famous South Platte River) is excellent !
Any sunny afternoon to explore the area is good for a quiet country drive down the meandering roads between the historical farmsteads of Port Onieda only to discover another stretch of private seemingly untouched beach all to yourself that goes
on for miles and miles...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh ! And then there are the Sunsets.............
