The view was beautiful, the house was spacious and it was the perfect getaway. It is only 5 minutes from Legs Inn, which is fantastic if you love Polish food! The beach is gorgeous and while it was a little too early in the season to swim, we hung out down there all weekend. You have very sketchy cell reception, but I thought that was the best part of the vacation.

Very clean and comfortable - Great Location!
Greg was very prompt and courteous with replying via HomeAway and my friends and I had a fantastic time at their home for our annual weekend of skiing over President's Day. Approx 25 min from Boyne Highlands/Nubs Knob. Greg sent checklists for check in/out and made it easy to get situated. The house is HUGE and could easily accommodate a group of 17 people as advertised. The house is very clean and comfortable with plenty of deck space. 2 living areas and a large kitchen.... The house is situated right on Lake Michigan with a private beach and we are tempted to come back to rent in the summer months. Be sure to bring your own TP and some basic soap/paper products!

Amazing family reunion
I love family reunions. Every year I try to find the perfect spot, and this year, yes I found it! We had the best week in the house, it is absolutely an amazing property. I will list some pros and cons. Pros- Size, it is huge. Location - Beautiful place with lots of interesting places to visit in any direction. House is quite secluded so you feel peaceful and rested but still close to stores, restaurants and attractions. It is right on the Lake and the views are spectacular. Best sunsets ever. Equipment - it is well equipped with sand toys, kayaks, ice hockey, nice play area in basement... you almost do not need to bring anything, but bikes is a good idea. Kitchen has lots of everything. Deck - Very large with lots of sitting and tables. Great, great, great. Owner - very nice and always available for questions. Cons - Internet is slow because of location. This however could be a pro since it was great to disconnect from work. Sand - It is hard work to keep the carpet and floors without sand! I recommend visiting Harbor Springs, and Mackinaw Island. Restaurants, Legs In (Polish) just around the corner is fabulous. Crow's nest is a family restaurant 2 miles from the house but you can also order pizza to go for those easy nights. Go down tunnel of trees until you reach Pond Hill Farm, the restaurant there is super nice and the farm great to visit for both kids and adults. For grocery shopping I recommend IGA in Harbor Springs, easy drive on 77 south, right straight from the house. 20 minutes. It really has everything.

Had a wonderful stay
My family had a great time at the cottage. We have been renting in the area for many years and with this house we finally found a comfortable fit for our extended family of 13 people (8 adults, 5 kids). We liked staying in the same house rather than staying in multiple cabins which we have done in past years. There was plenty of room to spread out and have privacy when desired, yet it was also easy to share meals and to have family time all together. We hope to return next year!

Beautiful 4600 sq ft, 7 bedroom, 3.5 bath family vacation cottage on Lake Michigan near Harbor Springs in Cross Village. Built in 2001. Swim and ski. Great room, family room, wood and gas fireplaces, leather sofas, oak trim, well-equipped stainless kitchen, Italian tile, Karastan carpet, cathedral ceilings and windows. Three levels for separation. Huge cedar deck with 10 step stairway to sandy Lake Michigan beach and stream nearby. The General Store has groceries, liquor and gas. 20 minutes from Pelston airport with Delta service and car rentals. Near Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Machinack Island, Nubs Nob and Boyne Highland's ski resorts. 70' LED flatscreen TV with surround sound downstairs, 50' plasma upstairs.
About The Area
On beautiful Lake Michigan at the end of the M-119 Tunnel Of Trees. Sand dunes for climbing at Wilderness State Park 5 minutes north. Downhill skiing at Nubs Nob and Boyne Highland. Harbor Springs with 1890 cottages, restaurants and shops 20 minutes south. Machinaw Island 20 minutes north. Woody, sandy, with 5 light houses and freighters going round the Straits.
