More about historic Salisbury Beach-
With a slower pace of life and a friendly populace that can trace its lineage back to the first English settlers, it's no wonder people head to this Essex County hamlet every summer and all-year, to get away from the daily grind. Our Salisbury vacation rental provides the perfect retreat from the every day. Walk to restaurants, pizza shops, the best soft serve ice cream ( black raspberry and coffee- yum! ), a local farm stand, fireworks store, and the Mass/NH state line.

With five miles of pristine beach and homes dating back to the town's formation, Salisbury, Massachusetts, enjoys a reputation as a quaint summer colony with historic flavor. Once home to the Pennacook tribe, Europeans headed here in 1638 and never left. Visitors love the rows of traditional clapboard homes abutting Federalist structures and picturesque farms.

Salisbury is all about nature and the coastal waters. It's a big reason this town is one of the most popular on the North Shore. The Salisbury Beach State Reservation is a nearly five-mile ocean side park ( plus 2 miles of Seabrook Beach ) offering many places to swim, fish, and camp. The campground boasts renovated bathhouses and the beach offers a boardwalk and playground. Head northwest from the beach and you'll come across picturesque Allen Rock, a marshy island, as well as camera-ready Badgers Rock, a small outcropping on the Merrimack River.

Kids of all ages will enjoy the plethora of mini golf sites, in-town go-cart tracks, arcades, and adults will enjoy touring area farms for produce and flower bulbs and scenic drives up or down the coast on route 1A. Summer concerts are held at Blue Ocean Music Hall at the pavilion on historic Salisbury Beach. Most, if not all seats are within 50 feet of the stage, offering a bird's eye view of the performers, both famous and local.

With its convenient North Shore location, Salisbury is a great spot from which one can organize day trips around the region. Boston is only 40 miles to the south, with spooky Salem even closer. The small coastal hamlets of Newbury and Newburyport lie just adjacent to Salisbury and have some cultural as well as natural sites. Plum Island lies just off the coast, offering natural wonders as far as the eye can see. Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Maine, are several minutes up 95 north. Portland Maine is just under 80 minutes. The beaches and historic towns of Cape Cod are just a couple of hours away for a longer day trip or an overnight adventure. You can even take the high-speed ferry from Boston to Provincetown.

With close to seven miles of pristine beach and abundant natural beauty, you'll truly feel your troubles disappear at our ultimate Salisbury vacation rental. Go ahead, we dare you, wiggle-your-toes-in-the-sand!

Added bonus:
With close to 60 colleges/universities in-the-area, plus several ( 11 ) boarding schools, this house is a great home-base for visiting schools while living and relaxing at-the-beach.

Two Gas Fireplaces; generally in use from 10/15-04/15, depending on-the-weather and at the discretion of the homeowner.

Relaxing!!!

This was the first time I stayed at beach front property and I don't think I could have picked a better home. To start, yes, the home was clean and well maintained, the pictures are accurate, but it quickly becomes apparent the pride the owners take in their home. The owners make it very clear that if there is any problem please notify them immediately and they will do their best to resolve any issue or answer any question. The kitchen is well stocked for those that are cooking. Two different coffee makers, one being a Keurig, large toaster oven, Cutco knives (quality), extra-large griddle, etc., plenty of pots and pans, plates and utensils. Large grill in the back although we didn't use it. Overall excellent accommodations! Basically, you physically live on the beach for a week. It was awesome being able to get up each morning and watch the sun rise across the ocean and that evening watching the ocean under the stars; and you can do this from the beach, the deck, or within the home. It was also very special one evening sleeping on the deck and falling asleep hearing the waves crash. You are literally walking on the beach within a minute. There are people on the beach but you feel like you have your own section of beach. There are numerous restaurants nearby, not within walking distance, but within 5 minutes in either direction. The only down side of the trip was Mark's Seafood as you are approaching the home. There were a number of cars in the parking lot, usually a good indication, but we found the preparation wanting. I'm sure the seafood was fresh, I ordered the seafood platter, but all seafood came deep fried, even the lobster. The bottom line is I will not get seafood again that is deep fried. Over powered the seafood. Admittedly I just ordered the Seafood Platter and didn't specify how it should be prepared. My mistake. And they do offer broiled in addition to deep fried. Proportions were huge. My opinion.

Whale of a time

Had a wonderful time and the weather was sunny nearly every day. An extra treat included the humpback whales and seals who came to visit us daily. The beach house was great, plenty of room for our family, and we had everything we needed to enjoy the beach. We had great lobster from Yankee Fisherman's Co-op and frequented Hodges Too ice cream often. Thanks Richard and Jean for a wonderful beach vacation!

We will keep coming back!

This is our 2nd year at the Beck's house and the only thing better than the house was the weather! Richard, as always, is extremely accommodating and available during your stay if you have any issues or questions. Any inquiry we had was answered within an hour. The house is beautiful and offers everything you need and then some (fully stocked kitchen, beach toys, boogie boards etc.). The deck is where you can spend all time your time pre and post beach time. I was out there every morning for breakfast and every night until bedtime. Looking forward to next year

Everything you could want in a beach house

We were extremely pleased with this beach house! Not only was it right on the ocean, but the wrap around deck was fantastic. It was great how everything you needed for cooking came equipped in the kitchen. The outdoor shower was a huge hit with the kids. The owner was very welcoming upon check in. Couldn't ask for more, we loved it.

Excellent

Beautiful home set right on Salisbury beach. Sunrises are spectacular and the beach and ocean views are endless. The home is very comfortable and equipped with everything you’d ever need for a fun stay. Richard is a very helpful and attentive host. We recommend staying at this beautiful place any time of the year. The beach walks can’t be beat and there is lots to do nearby with shopping, recreation facilities, great restaurants, etc.
