Serene but with adventure close by
Our family of four (two young adult sons, my husband and me) had a very special holiday here. We love being outside and doing active things, but we also like some occasional "nesting" on vacation. This condo was an easy place to be - great kitchen and a sweet little lanai where we enjoyed many lazy breakfasts and great conversation. The pool was a quick walk away - a perfect place to enjoy the water and plan the next day's adventure. Snorkeling at the nearby beach club delightful. The condo was so thoughtfully stocked - beach towels and paraphernalia ready to go in the garage, and everything we needed to pull together some great meals and work on making the perfect mai tai. All was peaceful; never heard a neighbor or traffic, yet we were five minutes from a great store. With Gail's recommendations for restaurants, groceries, etc., we were set! Weather during our December stay was about the warmest and driest (we know; we drove all over the island!). Highly recommended for whatever type of vacation you are dreaming of. We hope to return.

Best accomodations on the Big Island!
The best VRBO experience we have ever encountered. I have stayed in dozens of VRBO accommodations and this was simply the best. My husband, 3 kids (12, 15 & 17) and I were greeted with a clean, well organized and well appointed condominium. This property should be a model for the way rental properties are offered. I felt like I was staying in a top tier hotel. Missing from the property were the typical personal items that many of the VRBO landlords leave behind that clutter their rental units. I would recommend this property to anyone and everyone. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Beautiful large townhome
We really enjoyed our stay here. It seemed to have everything we needed. It has great views and is set in a really nice community. I would stay here again for sure.

The Fairways at Mauna Lani is a privately-gated development located in the prestigious Mauna Lani Resort located on the sunny Kohala Coast of the Big Island. Enjoy golf at a 30% discount on the world-renowned championship Frances H. I'i Brown North and South Golf Courses. The Mauna Lani Racquet Club has three of the six courts lighted for cooler evening play. Work out at the Spa and Sports Fitness Club or take many of the classes they offer. The pool has lanes for swimming laps. Mauna Lani also has a private gated Beach Club at no extra charge with a restaurant. You can also relax at the free-form pool with baby area, waterfall and Jacuzzi right at the Fairways Town home at no charge. There is a full workout facility on property at no charge for your convenience.
The town home is located on the Fourth Fairway of the North Course and has been beautifully decorated by an interior designer. Enjoy the sunsets from the two covered lanais. The living and dining room areas are spacious and there is seating for eight at the dining room table with three additional bar stools. In addition to the King bed in the Master Suite and the guest bedroom that has two XL Twin Beds that can be converted to a King Bed we have also supplied you with two twin airbeds, 19 inches in height (linens and pillows included) to accommodate extra guests. There is room in the master bedroom for their use. The gas barbecue and wet bar is on the lanai.
It is 700 yards to the beautiful Fairmont Orchid Hotel which has public beach access to a beautiful white sand beach, water sports, and exquisite dining. The Mauna Lani Resort has eight restaurants and five lounges with live Hawaiian music almost nightly. The shopping center includes Tommy Bahama's Restaurant, Ruth Chris's Steak House, Sushi Restaurant, a French Bistro, a Vegan restaurant, and a Coffee and Juice Bar. Recently opened is a Snorkel Bob's where you can rent equipment for the week for $9 - $35 /week. Enjoy the self-guided walking tour, featuring archaeological sites with petroglyphs, historic park land, and the Kalahuipuaa Fishponds. Other nearby resort hotels include Mauna Lani Resort and Bungalows, Hapuna Prince Hotel, Mauna Kea Resort, and the Hilton Waikoloa where you can swim with the dolphins. It is a eight minute drive to Hapuna Beach which has the best bodysurfing and boogie-boarding on the island.
* Spacious 2289 square feet (including the garage and lanais) with a King bed in the master suite and a lovely sitting area with chaise, private lanai overlooking the golf course, large master bath with large whirlpool tub, separate roomy walk-in shower, double sinks with granite counter tops, separate toilet room, and plenty of closet space. Guest bedroom has 2 Twin XL Beds that can be converted to a King Bed with its own bathroom with a tub/shower combination and single sink with granite counter.
The kitchen is fully supplied with everything you need to cook as this is our second home and have it stocked for entertaining.

Mauna Lani is on the Kohala Coast with beautiful beaches and sunny most of the time.
House Rules
No somoking allowed in the townhome. It is expected that you will respect the air conditioning and turn it off while you are not home. There are screen doors on the front door and the sliding glass doors so the tropical breezes are wonderful.
Suitability
Suitable for couples ar families with 2 children. There is a port a crib and high chair so a 5th person can be allowed. The cost for an extra person over 4 is $30/day.
