We were thrilled with the location of our A8 Unit and would not hesitate to stay there again. The Unit itself fit the needs for the 2 of us very well. We enjoyed the quietness of the location and the proximity to the beach! The grounds were very well kept and the onsite managers were very easy to find and get along with! Perhaps new lanai furniture could be looked at. The unit was well maintained and we found all we needed to enjoy our week long stay. The proximity to the beach park next door was not an issue. Being close to Lahaina and Kihei allowed us easy access to either when we wished to visit a different location. Easy access from the airport as well! Would definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend Makani A Kai to others!

Great clean, quiet, beach front resort location
This location was very clean with all the amenities of home without the resort fees. The Maalaea beach front was wonderful with morning and evening walks. The space and kitchen was like being at home. There have all the beach and hiking toys available for use. We didn't use the pool or BBQ but it looked clean and simple to operate with lawn chairs to enjoy while relaxing or taking a tan. 2 am arrival and parking was a breeze. We will definitely stay here again!

A Place to See Turtles!
The property supplies the place with enough toilet paper, towels, kitchen soap, trash bags and dishwasher soap for about a little over a week based on two people. Laundry facilities is on site, 1.50 wash, .25 dry. A pool,2 BBQs, free WiFi are also available. It was a pleasant surprise to have two boogie boards, snorkel gear and lawn chairs in the room for use. This room is just a small walk around to the beach entrance. You can't actually see the beach if you were sitting down on the couch but you can hear the waves crashing. It is also right on the side of a beach access where a few of the locals come to camp, play in the water and BBQ. There are tons of turtles that come out just before the sun goes down. You'll see them get picked up by the waves and just hanging out feeding on the coral below. It's a cool place to snorkel. There's a bunch of fish to see as well as the chance to see some of these tuetles that hangout here. It's a great spot to boogie board, or just sit on the lawn chairs and take in the sun! There's not a lot of people so it's really quiet, and it's conveniently located. 20 minutes from walmart or Costco and Kihei, 5 minutes to the Harbor. It's just a great place and we plan to go back!

Welcome to this fantastic beach condo in Maalaea, steps from one of the largest beaches in Maui. Do morning strolls from Ma’alaea to Kihei. This gorgeous beach extends along the southern coastline of Maui for 4.5 uninterrupted miles, starting right in front of this condo complex!
Resort amenities at the Makani A Kai include a nice pool and patio close to the beach. This particular one bedroom condo has a private lanai with ocean views! The condo is beautifully decorated and tastefully upgraded. Relax in comfort with air conditioning, full kitchen (this unit has a cook top and microwave, but no oven), tiled floors trough out, free WiFi, and a nice large flat screen TV in the living room! The living room couch can also be folded out to sleep two additional guests.
Location, Location, Location! Close to the shops in Ma’alaea, restaurants, Maui Ocean Center (Maui's aquarium), Maui Golf and Sports Park, and Ma'alaea Harbor (where you can depart for whale watches, snorkel trips, deep sea fishing, etc). You can also drive into Kihei town in about 7 minutes or out to Lahaina in about 15 minutes.
