Beautiful view, beautiful accommodations, hospitable host

From the comfortable, elegant cottage, to the beautiful view, visible from the outdoor eating area, the cottage was just perfect. Angelese is a gracious and warm host, and thought of everything we might need to make our stay perfect. And her dogs, Chevy and Oliver, were always well-behaved and affectionate. There are many beautiful beaches nearby to explore, and Angelese has kindly provided beach chairs and snorkel gear. We cannot recommend the cottage highly enough.Susan P.

Our 5-star hotel will be a downgrade from the best place to stay in Kona
Carson W. said... Oct 25, 2017 75-661 Makapono Pl, Kailua-Kona, HI, 96740, United States Date of Stay Oct 21, 2017 I'm writing this from the location. I'm sitting outside at a nice little table that looks down over a grassy hill and over the ocean. The birds and sweet resident golden retrievers are keeping me company while we prepare to leave, and I'm sorry that we can't stay longer. The whole place was immaculate with incredible attention to detail. My wife and I enjoyed spending our mornings and evenings surrounded by a massive view and the sound of tropical birds. The drive into Kona is literally 10 minutes, which is worth it for the view alone. Don't be bothered that it's not right next to the beach. You'll enjoy this more. The neighborhood, sounds of Hawaiian nature, accommodations, amenities, and views are FAR superior to anything you'll find at the nearby hotels. Arriving at night we could tell the place was amazing, but we were blown away in the morning. We ran into one pleasant surprise after another, and eventually found ourselves wishing we'd booked more time here. The large bed was firm and comfortable and we slept well. If you're not bothered by the tropical temperatures you can open the mountain-side windows. Otherwise you can close up and turn on the AC. We did both, and slept better with the AC on, but enjoyed the feeling and sounds of the nights with windows open. We were a little nervous doing vacation rentals (we're still new to the whole VRBO thing), but couldn't bring ourselves to spend $300 on a mid-grade hotel with complaints of mold and bugs. We are SOOO glad we booked with Angelese at her cottage in Kona. Now, we feel like our 5-star resort on Maui for the second half of our trip is going to be a downgrade.Carson W.

Wonderful, Relaxing Property on the Big Island - This was an Experience!
Ryan S. said... Mar 8, 2018 75-661 Makapono Pl, Kailua-Kona, HI, 96740, United States Date of Stay Feb 24, 2018 My wife and I recently travelled to the Big Island for our babymoon. Neither of us had been before and after looking into various types of accommodation (hotel, condo’s, VRBO) we stumbled upon this shared vacation property on VRBO. What initially caught our attention was the wonderful views of the ocean and the access to nice amenities on-site (pool and fitness gym). The location is excellent as you are about 5-10 mins from downtown Kailua and more importantly, only 3-5 mins from Highway 11/19 which is your North/South roadway to all the best parts of the island. From the very start Angelese was very responsive and helpful and once we arrived to the property we knew we made the right choice! The suite is modern, yet cozy and came with lots of extras we weren’t expecting (snorkel gear, boogie board, BBQ, Tupperware, cooler for beach snacks/drinks, and much more). This place feels more like staying at a family cottage than a hotel, which made it a great experience. Her two golden retrievers (Chevy & Oliver) are very sweet and friendly and we would always laugh when then showed up at our screen door to say hi or to greet us as we drove into the property. This was a truly unforgettable experience and made our stay on the island that much more memorable versus staying at a typical hotel or condo in Kailua. Mahalo Angelese, you’re the best!!Ryan S.

Exquisite attention to comfort and beauty!
Jill J. said... Nov 16, 2017 75-661 Makapono Pl, Kailua-Kona, HI, 96740, United States Date of Stay Nov 8, 2017 We were stunned to drive onto the property with its 150 yr old mammoth banyon tree, beautiful birds songs echoing through the jungle and two excited and friendly Golden Retrievers to greet us! Meeting Angelese made it even more perfect—she’s charming, warm, and so obviously cares that you have a good time. Then we saw the property! The rooms are artistically decorated for beauty and function —we viscerally relaxed just sitting down in the room. Every detail is thought out—if you need it , she has it and it’s nicer than you have at home! The view is just majestic, the pool is magazine-worthy, and the mountain breezes are quite something—all the better to snuggle in bed! Lots of the furniture was made by her late husband , who was an extremely talented man and deeply missed by his wife and dogs. We could feel the love in our cottage though, and it was absolutely wonderful to experience it. For us , that’s a healing place and we’d definitely love to go back.Jill J.
