We loved it!
Being within walking distance to Tunnels Beach was a plus because there isn't much parking there. The house was wonderful and all the added extras really helped: beach chairs, towels, snorkel gear, movies, games, laundry room, etc. The bedrooms were roomy with comfortable beds. We especially loved the deck and outdoor shower! We had stayed on the north shore before, but this house was so much better! Mahalo!!!

wonderful
We enjoyed everything about the property from location to decoration, amenities, well stocked with virtually anything you might need, but especially enjoyed very private outside oversized Jacuzzi tub. Portable air conditioners came in handy. Huge rear deck to lounge about.

We would stay here again
We are a family of four, with twelve and fifteen year old boys and Kauai was a dream vacation for us. We researched and read reviews on what seemed like a hundred homes. Tunnels Beach turned out to be our very favorite so it was a wonderful convenience to be so close. It was definitely a 15 minute walk for us from the house so the few times we walked it, we tried to take as little gear as possible. It was also a blessing to be that close to the "end of the road" so we could get to the Napali trail head early since there aren't nearly as many parking spaces as there are tourists trying to find one. :) The house was clean and we had plenty of room. The shower in the parking area made cleaning ourselves and our gear much easier. The washer and dryer meant we didn't go home with ten loads of dirty laundry. The boogie boards, beach towels, chairs, snorkel gear, etc... were an added bonus and one less thing for us to pack or purchase. As many other reviewers pointed out (so we were prepared for), the house gets really hot during the afternoon and you will not want to be in it then. But it does cool down quickly at night and the area seems really safe so we had no worries leaving everything opened up for the breeze. We did cook every night and didn't lack for any necessities in the kitchen. Every VRBO we have rented has always had a few essentials like sugar and spices, dish detergent, soap, paper towels, etc... and this house did also and again, we appreciate having one less thing to buy at the store. I did pack a Dohm sound machine for the trip and it helped some since you need to leave the windows open and the roosters WILL begin crowing at 4 a.m. Also the house is maybe 100 feet from the main road and the Napali hikers begin rolling in at sunrise so just be prepared to start your day early. Still, due to the quality and cleanliness of the house and it's proximity to the areas of Kauai we loved, we would definitely stay here again and are thankful people share their homes with those of us who can only dream of living in a paradise such as this!
