A great cabin and great times
We met Mike upon arrival and he showed us the cabin and went over a few things. The cabin was spotless and all that we expected. Buster the hound visited us everyday and he is the coolest dog ever. You will want to take him home with you. The river and trails are perfect for enjoying the great outdoors. We thoroughly enjoyed the shooting range. We shot our guns two days in a row it was so much fun. We will be back in the near future. Also take a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway train if you find time.Tim C.

If you’re looking for seclusion and a break from it all, this is the place. You literally just need to bring your personal items and any food (and adult beverages!) you need. The cabin is fully stocked with pans, plates, utensils, etc. as well as towels and paper products. Once you get there you won’t want to leave. The trail is literally right behind the house that leads to the river! Our kids loved the hot tub and the fire pit ideal for marshmallow roasting and s’mores making! The beds were comfy and the huge master suite upstairs has a great mountain view. Buster was a great companion and protector while we were there! The road can be a little daunting to those who aren’t used to country roads so beware. We already booked our return trip and can’t wait to go back!Elisabeth

We were very happy with our two-week stay here at this cabin. Mike is great at showing us everything upon arrival. The home is very clean and very well cared for. The hiking trail is well maintained and beautiful. Most of my kids could all do the trail, but it was challenging for the younger kids. (the two year old would not be able to do it, obviously). The youngest kid we had on the trail was 6 years old. We enjoyed playing in the river, using the shooting range and fishing (though not successful...no fish). We also enjoyed the downtown Ellijay shops, and really loved the downtown Blue Ridge shops (that took us two days to see them all). While here for two weeks, we also went tubing, rented a boat on a near-by lake, went to the outlet mall about an hour and a half away, painted pottery at a cute shop in downtown Ellijay, and had a great time! Plenty to do in this area. Very nice trip. Highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a place to stay in Ellijay. Wonderful getaway in secluded cabin
We were very happy with our stay at this cabin. All of our expectations were either met or exceeded. The cabin is very clean and well maintained. It was so nice to have all of the nice touches that Mike and Sharon have included with this rental. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were high quality, plenty of cooking utensils and cookware, nice grill, clean hot tub, you name it. We really enjoyed the nature trail which runs from the house down towards a nice creek, of course accompanied by the dogs, Buster and Dixie. There is a wonderful view of the mountains from the deck of the cabin. We could not have been happier with the cabin and the property. The town of Blue Ridge was super nice with lots to do and many places to eat. We went to two State Parks which were within an hours drive and hike some great trails and saw some great scenery. We drove to some of the points of interest like Swinging Bridge and some of the hiking trails and waterfalls. It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect all week. We would love to come back sometime. Thanks Mike and Sharon for sharing your wonderful cabin. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway.Thomas L.

Perfect vacation cabin!
We just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay! Wish it could have been longer, but this cabin is so awesome, it is always booked ! When we arrived we met Mike. He & his wife Sharon own this cabin & the beautiful property. Great guy, easy to talk to ! The view from this cabin is stunning! Words cannot do it justice. There are beautiful, peaceful walking trails along the lake. The owners share the entire property with you to enjoy it's beauty ! This cabin is secluded, but only about 15 minutes from either Ellijay or Blue Ridge. You should visit both quaint towns ! You cannot come here and not fall in love with the spacious, well stocked, comfortable, beautiful cabin, and then comes Buster & Dixie ! The sweetest and very polite dogs of Mike & Sharon. They hung out with us every day & night and we looked so forward to seeing them. Buster is your own private trailblazing tour guide through the trails! We left very early the morning we checked out & Buster was there and just sat on the front porch watching us drive off, not leading the way as he had done previously. He touched our hearts so deeply, we were quite weepy for a long time. This cabin is a must ! Each season has different things to do, so book early and go !! We can guarantee you will not be disappointed ! We look very forward to our return !!Karen F.

Wonderful Memories at this cabin!
We are a family of up to 7. This cabin was comfy but not stuffy at all. We loved the mountain views and the cabin had all of the extras such as satellite TV, AC, a coffee maker, and 2 full baths. We stayed 3 nights and it was lovely! We enjoyed playing in the river, tried our hand at fishing (no luck, just too hot) and also enjoyed walking on the nature trails! The best part were the dogs! We loved spending time with Dixie and Buster. We are not "dog" people, but these were the gentlest, friendliest, and best behaved dogs that we've ever met! We saw a lot of wildlife while we visited, mostly birds, a couple of turtles, minnows and a black snake (it was non-venomous). The walk down to the river from the cabin was a little steep, so I'd make sure that you supervise kids the first couple of times. My mother-in-law went with us and she had to catch her breath a couple of times on the way back up (but so did I, lol). The "Steep" nature trail, was definitely harder to manage than the one behind the cabin. I am moderately in shape and I had a hard time with climbing back up the hill. Once you make it down to the river, there are very well maintained walking paths near the river. I was entertaining the idea of trail running, but I don't know if that's a good idea in general. There were a lot of roots and stuff hidden under the forest floor. Our favorite place was the "island" where my kids enjoyed wading into the shallows and I just lounged in the chairs provided. There is also a nice garden area with a gazebo. I was concerned about ticks, but the trails are well maintained and we didn't seem to get any. We also used an all natural bug repellent before every walk or excursion outdoors. I was hoping for just a couple of days away from the daily grind, but what I got out of it was so much more! I felt like this experience gave my kids a chance to experience nature, work off extra energy (they slept really well) and they ended up caring so deeply for Dixie the dog. On our last morning at the cabin, my daughter was in tears, she didn't want to leave the cabin or the dogs behind! This was not just a temper tantrum, she genuinely cared for the dogs! Overall, it was the best mountain vacation ever!Georgia
