Come enjoy your slice of paradise with sunny skies and sparkling gulf water. Take a stroll on the beach early morning, or take a swim in the heated pool or in the gulf waters. Watch the gorgeous sunsets and the dolphins as they play in the surf or just swim by playfully. Collect seashells by the seashore! Famous for shark's teeth also. Swim in the gulf, fish, snorkel, dive, parasail, paddle board, jet ski, boating, or swim in the pool, walk to shops and enjoy good eating while there. Many fine restaurants in the area, casual is the order of the day. Enjoy your home away from home in your condo with 2 fully equipped and comfortable bedrooms with TVs, or watch movies on your DVD, visit museums and more shopping in Sarasota, just 20-30' on highway 41 to the north. Charter a boat and fish out in the gulf with a guide or if you are experienced, rent a boat (across the street) and fish farther out in the gulf.
If Disney World is for you, visit Orlando while you are here. The Mote Aquarium is nearby in Sarasota as well as the Ringling Museum. Watch the loggerhead turtles during this time of year as they make tracks onto the beach at night to lay their eggs and watch them hatch into baby turtles and find their way to the sea. You may see them around our location as they get turned around at times. There will be numbers to call to report the sightings. Very interesting to learn about and watch for. If you are very lucky, you might see them hatch. There are public tennis courts on the island as well as playgrounds for children. Events occur in the gazebo located in the community park downtown, music groups might be playing anytime around the island or on the beaches. There is an active art center here and our own little theater plus other live theater in Sarasota. Many festivals are set up on the downtown streets at various times of the year. There is a group of banjo players who gather to entertain at Snook Haven weekly during the winter season. Snook Haven is located on the Myaaka River where they also have a great tour and wonderful historian who take you down the Myaaka and give you the history back to when the Indians settled there plus you will be certain to see a few lazy alligators lolling or sunning on the banks. You can explore the Myaaka State Park on your own and watch different birds and other natural wildlife as they flit about, climb a tower to see out over the tree tops and view as far as your eyes can see.
You will love this area and want to return time and again as we have done. There never seems to be a shortage of entertainment or if it's quiet you want, you can have that too. It's all up to you.
