Discover the serenity of a family vacation. Get out of the rat race and go back in time...a slower time.
If you get up early enough you might just see the tracks of female Giant Sea Turtle as she makes her way up the beach to lay eggs and then returns to the sea. Or hunt for that perfect shell as you stroll on the beach in the early morning breeze with your coffee in hand. The dolphins might just follow you as you walk along the beach. They love to frolic early in the morning.
Lounge under an umbrella while the kids build sandcastles and swim in the surf. Bring your fishing rods and catch your dinner...the whiting are great. Sip your wine and watch the sunset from any of the 3 decks. Kids can hide away in their special room with bunk beds and tv.
Make snow angels in the sand under the incredible Milky Way at night. You can see more stars than you have ever dreamed. See the Big and Little Dippers and many more.
Build bonfires and roast marshmellows,and make smores.
Whether you love strolling on the white sugar beach or swimming in the private community pool, you can do it all here at Chunky Monkey.
Seven houses share the 2 pools.
The master bedroom has a second floor balcony, king size bed, brand new pillow top memory foam mattress, huge walk in closet,and private bath with double sinks, shower,and jacuzzi tub for 2. Walk in closet could be bedroom for young kids.
There is a second bedroom on the second floor with a queen bed and private bath.
On the first floor there is another bedroom with a queen bed,and hall bath. The kids' room has 2 sets of bunk beds. The double mattress on the bottom of each is comfortable enough for adults.
In the open space of the great room ( 30 x 27) there are tables to keep puzzles out, play card games,Trivial Pursuit, or the game of choice. There are tables and chairs to seat 14 for dinner, a 40' Flat screen tv in the living room with smaller flat screens in the bedrooms,wireless broadband internet,and phones to keep you in touch with the real world if necessary.
Scallop Cove Convenience Store,located across the street, provides lots of entertainment for the kids. My kids make 2-3 trips a day for ice cream, candy, you name it! I too find it convenient for that one little thing I forgot to get at the store. Fishing equipment and licenses are also available there.
Outside there is a table to clean fish and an outdoor shower and bath. Kids love to clean up in the open air and run to the house clean!
Be sure to go scalloping down at the St. Joe Park in July. It is only a mile or two away.
Our family absolutely loves sharing our special vacation home with you. We hope you enjoy it and build as many wonderful relationships and memories as we have here in the serenity and peacefullness of Cape San Blas. One of our young guests love her vacation so much that she started a tradition. She found a favorite shell and then autographed it with her name and the date. Leaving a note to encourage others to do the same, we now have an entire display table of the various shells and the special people who enjoyed our special home. If you visit I invite you to also contribute to our guest book as well as our shell table. It is very precious to the family.
