House Sleeps6Bedrooms2Bathrooms2Minimum Stay2 nightsA very charming 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom vacation home featuring a heated, saltwater pool. The home sleeps up to 7 adults. New cable connected TV’s, Wi Fi and a mid century modern design.
The home is located on an island called Terra Mar, which sits in the intercoastal waterway, there is a single bridge off the island with a security barrier. The home is in a very tranquil part of the top end of this tropical island. The island is a superb place for that early morning stroll or bike ride. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The island is connected to Lauderdale by the Sea and all its great restaurants and nightlife.
The beaches are pristine and big, so no matter what time of year it is there is plenty of space on the beach. Further south and into Fort Lauderdale the beaches are much busier. If it’s relaxation you want, these are the beaches for you and your family.
You enter the home through a metal garden gate that can be locked. This is normal given that the swimming pool is right there and it is important to protect the safety of non swimmers. The pool is superb. It can be heated at a small cost to the guest, but this being Florida it isn’t always needed. We put heating in to give our guests the best experience possible. So, when you hear how cold it is up north you can have a little smile on your face as you relax in a 85 degree saltwater swimming pool. Please check out how much better salt water is compared to chlorine, it is not even close, no itchy eyes, no itchy skin. The small wall and gate add another layer of safety for non-swimmers.
The front door opens to the main living area with ample seating to watch a movie, do a jig saw puzzle, read a book or just plain and simple r-e-l-a-x, south Florida style. There is a dining area adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen is very functional with all normal appliances and fully equipped for those who like to cook when on holiday. In the kitchen there is a door through to the garage, which is where you will find a washer and dryer. Beyond the kitchen and dining area you go down one step to the Florida room / Garden room area. This secluded spot is a great place to relax with your morning coffee while you plan your day. Moving back into the living room, we carefully selected a few pieces of mid century and antique furniture. We tried to keep it airy, but also tried to give the guests different areas to relax in.
The room was painted and then the owner had it painted again to a sea foam color more in keeping with the homes proximity to the beach and ocean.
The hallway to the bedrooms has more closet space. The home is not short of closets!! The master bedroom features a rare and complete mid century suite of furniture king size bed, TV and large closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, a single bed, TV and large closet.
There is ample space on the south side of the home to throw or kick a ball around, but please be mindful of our neighbors. Please come and try us out! This house is great
