If your interest is fishing then Matlacha Pass, Pine Island Sound, and the other surrounding waterways are known to offer some of Florida’s richest fishing grounds. You can hire guided trips for inshore fishing, rent a kayak, or take the water taxi from nearby Pineland marina across to the beautiful off-shore islands of Cabage Key and North Captiva Island.
Championship golf courses abound, designer outlet malls and glamorous shopping at Gulf Coast Town Center and Coconut Point are a short drive away.
The Islands of Sanibel & Captiva, famous for their pristine beaches and tropical island atmosphere, are a short drive across the causeway. Waters around Matlacha sound can be very shallow in parts and may not be suitable for all types of boats – you are cautioned to research the Internet for further advise.
The boat dock at the property is available for guest use but the boat lift is private and does not rent with the home. Boats cannot be stored on the driveway or launched from the premises – public boat ramp access is located half mile away.
