We will be back

We will be back!!!   5 of 5 This is a beautiful condo, with a beautiful view and very clean. We were pleased with all the kitchen supplies and new grill. It is spacious so the 4 of us had plenty of room. It is also very secluded in a quiet area and with Key Colony across the street there is a great walking path, par 3 golf, Pickleball and some nice shopping nearby as well. Oh, another biggie - the beds and pillows were very comfortable!!! As I said, WE WILL BE BACK!!! Submitted: Feb 20, 2018 Stayed: February 2018 Source: HomeAway Owner's Response: Dear Shelly Thanks so much for the kind words. It is difficult to convey the true beauty of that location thru photo's but you folks discovered some of the real high points of Seaglass. You will discover more on your next trip. If you folks enjoy fishing you might want to try your luck off the pier. It can be outstanding. Thanks for staying with us and please come back. It gets better as you learn more about the beautiful Florida Keys. All the best to you and your family Bob Royko

Beautiful View

Had a wonderful time at Seaglass! It has all the amenities you need. Washer/dryer, good size fridge, blender (Loved it), toaster, cups, etc. We spent every morning relaxing outside on the deck and staring at that beautiful view. We enjoyed the large pool just steps away which we had all to ourselves most of the time. We also spent a lot of time on the dock which is nearby too. From the dock, we caught several different varieties of fish of which the largest fish we caught was stolen by a shark before we could reel it in. We also saw from the dock a sea turtle, manatee and more sharks (I don't recommend swimming there:) Very quiet neighborhood and clean grounds. You can walk to Sparky's behind Holiday Inn and to The Island Fish Company. Both have great food. We also used Captain Hooks which is close enough to walk to also. Thanks for sharing your condo!

We had a Wonderful Time and really enjoyed our Stay

The condo was well equipped with everything we needed. The dock is very nice for your boat and the kids loved fishing from the dock at night, lots of Mangrove snapper and they even caught a shark, barracuda and tarpon from the dock. Only recommendation would be to add a bait cooler downstairs like the other units had for their guest. But beautiful place to stay and would highly recommend to others.

Paradise in the Keys

Having stayed at the same complex before our over-all impression has not changed....great place to stay and good jumping-off point to all other areas of interest in the Keys (i.e. Key West, Key Largo, area beaches, Miami, etc.). Property was well maintained and equipped with all the conveniences. However, the grill was not on our balcony, as anticipated, but down under the building and too heavy to carry it up the stairs. The result was that several meals we planned could not be prepared. None the less, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful

We shard the condo with one other couple. It was the perfect size for the four of us. We had everything that we possibly needed. The view is spectacular. Loved taking our morning coffee to the docks and watching the spotted rays, sea turtles, and colored fish swimming around us. We rented a boat and docked it right there. We used the pool a couple times each day. It was the perfect temperature and we had fun watching the iguanas. We were looking forward to using the grill but found it was no longer available. The next door neighbor let us use his. So nice. We have always rented a home on the ocean side but are now converts to this unit.

Rented Seaglass 3X and it gets better each time.

My wife and I, along with another couple, rented from Bob in 2016. This was our 20th year in the Keys and our 3rd time renting Seaglass from Bob. The condo has been updated since the last time we rented. There is a new comfortable leather sofa and 2 new leather recliners in the living room, along with a new flat screen Samsung HDTV. There is a new refrigerator too. The new items are a sign that the owner (Bob) cares about his property. We love the location of Seaglass, right in the middle of the Keys. It is just 53 miles south, to Key West, or about the same north, to Key Largo. There are loads of places to fish, hike, walk, boat, and sight see. Renting the property is fast and easy. I highly recommend Seaglass.

- Very Nice Marathon Condo   4 of 5 We enjoyed our stay at Seaglass with spectacular views and a great location. It was very nice having the pool so close and plenty of nice restaurants within a mile or so to enjoy. We definitely plan to return to Marathon.

Seaglass will not Disappoint

This rental did not disappoint. Plentiful supplies within the condo, like towels, and for your cooking needs. The condo is roomy. Appliances wiporked well. It had good internet and t.v.. service. There's a fabulous view off the condo balconies, with good parking, nice pool and friendly neighbors. Docking is great, and there are many choices nearby for fishing excursions, shopping and restaurants.

I Love This Place! Quiet, Beach, Pier, Dock, Fishing, Pool, Fresh Food - It has Everything

Sea Glass is the best option for a relaxing Florida oceanfront vacation and the price is unbeatable. We love to fish and since we didn’t have our own boat to dock, we were able to fish right off of the pier and in addition to catching our dinner and lunch, we saw a sailfish and a manta ray jump up in the air near a little off short island. The wildlife viewing is spectacular and the folks who were using dock space were friendly. Another small group caught a shark right off of the pier and the battle was so lengthy and exciting, my daughter fell asleep on a pool chair from just watching. We went fishing with your friend Jimmy and caught enough fish to eat for our entire stay. It was amazing! We spent half of our water time at the beach, which was lovely, and it was also nice to just kick back by the pool where we could easily head up to the condo for a snack or to use the bathroom and not have to watch our daughter quite so closely. Everything is just so convenient and relaxing. We walked to various wonderful restaurants, great food, fun music as well us premium coffee at Leigh Ann’s which for our family is a morning tradition that must remain unbroken :) Our favorite upscale restaurant is the Butterfly Cafe and for relaxing and looking over the water, Sparky’s. Thank you for the recommendations! We spent a day in Key West and absolutely loved it. Louie’s Backyard was phenomenal as was Blue Heaven. It was so nice to visit, the Butterfly House, Southernmost Point and the beach - and we rented a peddle car too - and then escape the crowds and return to Sea Glass. I can’t imagine it is ever quiet in Key West! The view from your balcony is really special. We had coffee out there every morning (aside from one when we walked Pigeon Key) and just watch the water, birds and fish while I daughter had her vacation dose of morning cartoons. It was so hard to leave. We will be back!! We’ve found our spot! P.S. Thank you for providing a pet-free space. My husband is allergic to cats so it was nice not to worry about that. Quiet, While Still Being Centrally Located

I am late in submitting this review even though I had the best intentions of completing it when I returned from our trip. We booked this property and had great success with communication ahead of time with both the owner and the property manager. We picked this property because there we were a group of 2 couples vacationing together for the first time. Being a little nervous of how it would go, we thought it would be best if we at least had 2 bathrooms to allow for as much personal space as we could. This property ended up being a dream! There was plenty of space for both couples to be comfortable and not be in each others space, but also allowed for us to enjoy each others company. The dock was perfect for my husband (who spends the entire vacation fishing). The rest of us enjoyed spending a day at the quiet pool area. Marathon is perfect for those travelers who like the keys, but don't want the Key West experience every time. Being able to enjoy the beautiful beaches and great restaurants in Marathon was awesome! Bahia Honda is nice and close, and the Pigeon Key Tour is not to be missed!

What a great place! No disappointments!

As others have said, Seaglass is exactly as described. Everything you need for relaxing in the Keys. Just the right amenities, close to everything. The unit was clean and well maintained. Bob and the property manager Mickey, were extremely easy to work with. Inch beach was very nice and never crowded

Fantastic Townhouse!!!!

We really enjoyed staying in this townhouse. VERY roomy...perfect location...lovely balcony off the master bedroom to sit and drink coffee and watch the sun come up. It's a small complex, so it was very mellow and quiet. The pool is terrific...nice size, clean, and plenty of lounge chairs. The fun part to this condo are the iguanas that sun themselves every day. Beautiful dock...I sunned on it while the husband fished...we saw 2 manatees playing in the water, literally 20 feet away from us. For Sunday football, head to Sunset Grille just before the Seven Mile Bridge. Our favorite happy house was at Sparky's in Key Colony. You really can't go wrong with this place!

Chilling Out in Comfort with a View of the Gulf

We are a family of 4 from NYC and were in need of some warmth and an escape from a long, cold winter. The Keys and Seaglass gave us what we needed! The Condo - It is very clean, has everything we needed and very comfortably fit the four of us (Mom, Dad, 8 y.o. and 12 y.o.). We cooked almost every day - kitchen was great for that and had all the tools we needed. Wifi is fast. There are lots of signs/notes around to help you find things and remind you of house rules. The beds are very comfy. The kitchen/living area is large and has great views of the Gulf. The master bath upstairs even has a view of the Gulf. Our favorite aspect of the house were the incredible wrap-around views of the Gulf from the master bedroom. The Grounds - Gulfpointe II has 5 bulidings which are fairly close together and jut out into the Gulf such that there are great views in every direction. We enjoyed walking along the water's edge (rocky, no sand/beach), going out on the dock, playing soccer on a grassy area and swimming in the never-crowded pool. Very quiet. The Keys - Our favorite activity was a tour of the Turtle Hospital. Our kids want to go back and volunteer there. We also liked the Dolphin Research Center and walking trails at the Crane Nature Center. All of those are 10 minutes away or less. We enjoyed a sunset cruise. We were somewhat disappointed with Bahia Honda State Park - beach was pretty small and very crowded. Key West was an enjoyable day trip tho we found the downtown a little too loud/boisterous (even midday). We found the 3-4 Marathon restaurants we tried to be pretty mediocre, except for a simple Cuban Cafe near the Turtle Hospital. Cheap, and very tasty Cuban food/coffee! Inch Beach - The condo comes with access to Inch Beach, which is a small beach on the ocean about 5 minutes from the condo. We LOVED this spot. There is a big grassy field, covered palapas for shade/dining (with grill), and a small sand beach on the ocean, perhaps 30 yards across. We went about 4-5 times at different hours - usually there was one other group there so not crowded. Beach access seemed tight/limited in the Keys so this was a real treasure. Logistics - Bob/Mickey were very responsive and helpful/friendly all along the way. There were a few minor administrative snafus, but there were quickly dealt with in fine fashion. We left a few swimsuits behind and Mickey sent them to us which we appreciated. Thanks! Submitted: Apr 25, 2015 Stayed: April 2015 Source: HomeAway Did you find this review helpful?

EVERYTHING YOU NEED WOMAN OR MAN!

This was our second time at Seaglass & we have already booked for a third next year! Four of us drive down from Wisconsin to meet up with two other couples mainly so the guys can fish & woman can do whatever they want. This condo is perfect for any length of stay. Washer/dryer, dish washer, plenty of pots, pans & dishes to use. We had gone for two weeks in the past years but have booked for three weeks next year. Clean, nice furnishings, GREAT LOCATION and what really was nice is everyone around this secluded area was so nice even the couple living next door. She even brought us over some homemade HOT corn bread. So much to do and Bob had given lists of great restaurants & "hot spots". Nothing is as good as taking your fresh fish to one of the local restaurants to cook up! Very accommodating. Spent so much time on the patio enjoying the great view right on the water. Pool was near & even on windy days it was nice to sit around because it is pretty sheltered. Grounds were very well kept up. Bob you & your wife have sure made this a nice place to stay & get away from the harsh Wisconsin winter. THANK YOU Jim & Judy Onken

Nice place + Nice location

t is a really nice condo/townhouse with balcony facing gulf. It is part of a 4 unit building so there is no "crowded" feeling and neighbors seem nice and quiet. Parking is designated and under the building, at ground level. Modern place with living/kitchen on the first level and bedrooms on the 2nd. Large windows/sliding door make it really nice view to the gulf and palm trees outside. The grounds outside are nicely kept and clean. Swimming pool is right outside which is really nice in the winter months when gulf/ocean is on the cooler side. Couple miles from the 7 mile bridge and plenty of good restaurants close by ... Would not mind coming back.

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We stayed at Gulfpointe II for our first time and it wont be our last It was very clean and comfortable. The view was extraordinary and beautiful. We loved sitting on the patio in the morning and evening just to enjoy the view. I loved sitting by the pool, mostly by myself and reading. Very relaxing and several eating establishments close by. We are looking forward to another stay next year. Thank you Bob. Lori and Paul

Excellent!

The other reviews are true! Great location, clean, quiet, everything that it is promised to be. The water in the gulf is so clear we saw a shark and manta ray right from the deck! The pool is lovely and we had it to ourselves most of the time. The access to Inch beach is a definite perk as it has no seagrass accumulation, something all the public beaches have quite a lot of. We really enjoyed our stay, thanks Bob!

Oops We Did It Again And LOVED IT!

This was our second year at Seaglass-20 and we love it as much the second time, as the first. The condo is located on Marathon, which is the heart of the Florida Keys. When we arrived, the condo was clean and in great condition with nice furniture. On the first floor is a living room, dining room, guest 1/2 bathroom, and kitchen with a new washer and dryer. On the second floor, is a king size master suite with full bathroom. Also on the second floor, is a second bedroom with two queen size beds and just outside the 2nd bedroom door, there is another full bathroom. We had four people in our travel group, so both bedrooms were used, as was the washer and dryer. I have visited the Florida Keys for the past 17 years, the condo was a perfect fit for us. Unlike another reviewer, we did NOT hear noise from US 1, not even when there was a southeast wind. Also, my deposit was returned quickly! I highly recommend this condo, if you are looking to relax and get away from it all, or if you are looking to explore the Florida Keys. Submitted: May 3, 2014 Stayed: March 2014

LOVE THE LOCATION AND QUIET

My husband and I needed a week away from our high stress jobs in NY. Staying at Seaglass fit the bill...we slept like babies waking up only by the soft sun shinning in off Florida Bay. The furnishings, pool, and Inch Beach was lovely and we really appreciated the list of recommended restaurants nearby! Every night out we had wonderful dinners of fresh fish cooked to perfection. Needless to say, WE WILL BE BACK!

What a view!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo! It was like a little slice of heaven after the cold winter of Michigan. We were looking for a spot to just sit back and relax and we found it in your spacious and welcoming condo on the Gulf. The list of sights to see and restaurants to try was very much appreciated. We visited Key West and took a wonderful walk around Crane Pointe and then just spent lazy days at Sombrero beach and the beautiful pool. We were so excited to see a manatee, small shark, and a couple of stingrays not to mention several iguanas just looking out from the balcony! Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home. We are looking forward to coming back soon.

Waterfront beauty.

Thank you, Bob and Family for a wonderful, warm and sunny vacation in your personal home in Marathon, FL. Everything was there to make it one of the best I've ever had, including some things I didn't even know I needed, like beach towels (loved Inch Beach), washer/dryer (thank you so much for your thoughtful surprise gift!), names and locations of great restaurants and sight-seeing venues, grocery stores, where we could rent a boat to fish if we didn't want to fish off the dock, so many helpful things were there for us. And the beauty of your personal artwork was only surpassed by the waterfront view which really is astoundingly beautiful. Also had a fun day in Key West, only about an hour away. Just wonderful.

Gives all that is promised

Swapping the dark Scandinavian winter for this place was a true vitamin injection for us and our teenage boys. We had a wonderful week in this clean, well equipped and roomy apartment overlooking the sea. Dolphins were swimming close and we caught a lot of fish from the nearby pier, including a 40 pound shark, that we let go off, of course. The weather was a bit under the weather, so we explored the nearby Sea Turtle Hospital, the Dolphin Research Institute, Key West and more and never came to the beaches. We really appreciated the handy tips that the owner, Bob, and his friends provided and everything worked out perfectly well. We found Captain Hooks Marina to be a service minded and well working diving center and spent one day fishing with cpt Kevin Johnsen at FK Reel Adventures, also to be recommended. Our best tip: stay for more than just a week to get into the laid back Marathon pace and do explore the back streets. Regards from Jonatan w family, Stockholm, Sweden. Lovely Sea Glass!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sea Glass and can't wait to return! Beautiful place with spectacular views! We spent most of our time fishing from the dock catching all kinds of snappers, catfish, amberjack and sharks. We were lucky enough to be there during a meteor shower and saw some spectacular shooting stars. The ride to Key West was enjoyable and scenic. My daughter loved getting kissed by a dolphin and giving commands to a sea lion at Theater of the Sea on Islamorada, a must do for children who love marine animals. We look forward to visiting Sea Glass again!

Amazing Stay in Sea Glass!

We had a fabulous stay at Sea Glass! Thank you for sharing your condo with our family. It is decorated beautifully and conveniently located near Key Largo and Key West. We followed many of your recommendations ~ loved kayaking through the mangroves, sipping coffee at Leigh Ann's Coffee Shop, and eating ice cream at Sweet Savannah's. It was perfect for our scuba diving trips. We truly enjoyed our vacation and stay at Sea Glass.

Seaglass is an ideal spot to spend some time!

We loved our stay at Seaglass. We found it to surpass our expectations and really were quite impressed with not only the Condo but the whole area. Loved that we had access to Inch Beach where we spent a ton of time. Loved that we often had the pool entirely to ourselves. The location was perfect for our families...close to the Dolphin encounter and the Turtle sanctuary and Bahia Honda and very easy access to food markets. The owners were incredibly generous with us and made sure that we had everything we needed..and we did! I would totally recommend this spot but am afraid to talk too much about it because I want to return and don't want to be crowded out!! (but why go to the Caribbean when you've got Seaglass and Marathon!)

'Peace' of paradise

Nice condo right on the water. The docks were teaming with wildlife to be seen whether you were fishing or just spotting. Manatees, Leopard Rays, Sea Turtles. Shark, pompano it was all there and in abundance. Very quiet and well kept area, tucked in but yet very close to the main road. We found it very easy to work with Bob & his people on this reservation and we are thankful for that. We would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to just enjoy quiet time by a very clean pool, nature at its best, and location near some very good restaurants. The view from the living room & master bedroom are beautiful. The weather was beautiful thru out our visit. We would use this property again.

Loved it so much, we are going back!

Located in the heart of the Florida Keys, this oceanfront condo has it all, if you're looking for a home base to explore the keys. We had four people in our travel group. The condo is clean and in great condition with very nice furniture. On the first floor is a living room, dining room, guest 1/2 bathroom, and kitchen with a washer and dryer. On the second floor, is a king size master suite with full bathroom. Also on the second floor, is a second bedroom with two queen size beds and just outside the 2nd bedroom door, there is another full bathroom. The oceanfront condo faces to the East/Southeast and has 2 sets of double slider/patio doors that offer marvelous views, of spectacular sunrises. I have visited the Florida Keys for the past 16 years, the condo was a perfect fit for us. There is not a beach on the property, but there is a pool. There are a few very nice beaches within a 5 to 10 minutes drive. I highly recommend this condo, if you are looking to relax and get away from it all, or if you are looking to explore the Florida Keys.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!

The condo was awesome--great location, nice pool, beautiful views of the Gulf, extremely clean and well kept up, loved the wrap-around balcony. Marathon is right in the middle of the Keys, and an easy starting point to explore the attractions in the other Keys...Islamorada to the north and Key West to the south. And thank you, Bob, for providing a handbook on activities and restaurants that you recommend--there's so much to see and do and your handbook really helped. One of my favorite restaurants is the Tiki Bar, which is within walking distance from the condo--love their coconut shrimp. And, right next door to the restaurant, you can rent jet skis and/or go parasailing. Our trip to the turtle hospital, with their turtle "rehab" center, was fascinating. The fishing trip is a must-do (you can do a half day or full day) and you can take your catch to a number of restaurants and they will cook it up for you! To sum it up--the condo was beautiful, Bob was wonderful to work with, visiting the Keys makes for a great vacation (one week isn't enough!). I'll be back!

WOW!! What a great place to stay.

We loved the condo, the location and the neighbors are very friendly. The location is in such a nice quiet area with great views. The only problem with our stay was that it was too short. The weather was perfect and we did all that we wanted to do. We went to the beaches, Inch beach, Bahia Honda Park and Sombrero Beach. We spent a day in Key West, sailed on a three mast schooner, visited the turtle hopspital (very fascinating), visited the Dolphin Research Center, and went for a helicopter ride. Bob all the information you left about great places to eat was very helpful. We hit a lot of your favorite spots, Island Fish Company, Sharky's, Cracked Conch, the Stuffed Pig and LeighAnn's. This was our first time in the Keys and it is such a fascinating area. Hope to come back. Thanks, Bob!

A Week in Paradise

The place was spectacular! It has all the comforts of home. It was clean, well kept up and decorated very nicely. It was quiet and relaxing. We had coffee on the deck in the mornings and cocktails on the deck in the evenings, what a beautiful view of the gulf! Thanks to the owners recommendation we chartered a fishing boat, caught lots of fish and had them fixed fresh that night for supper at a restaurant of our choice and still had plenty to bring home. Lots of good restaurants in Marathon. Sparkys, Fish Island Tiki Bar and Franks were some of our favorites. Location was great ,only 15-20 min to Bahia Honda State Park which was really nice. We also spent a day in Key West which was about an hour drive. So much to do, not enough time. We'll definitely be back!!!

WOW!!!!!

Oh boy, where do I begin... Renting Seaglass was nothing less then awesome! The condo is great! The property is spectacular! And it was fantastic dealing with both the owner and his property manager. They did a great job with sending instructional info before arrival, which had specific directions (getting there and getting into the house), plus sight-seeing, activity, and dining suggestions. The information notebook left for guest, at the property, had great instruction on all household items such as... how to run appliances, electronics - such as the TV and landline telephone. It also contained emergency weather evacuation if necessary, and emergency contact numbers. You all thought of everything. As others have mentioned, it's in a great location. It truly made you feel like you are way off the highway (very nice, quiet and relaxing), but so convenient to all local dining, grocery stores, water sport facilities/events, and Marathon Airport. It's central location was perfect for venturing out from Key Largo to Key West. We arrived after dark and boy, what a surprise to see those views the next morning - priceless! This trip was a birthday surprise vacation for my Dad and he couldn't have been more pleased. We had a wonderful time. We went to Key West (by the way, we liked Marathon better), took a boat tour, went to a few of the beaches, did some snorkeling, and took a helicopter tour. Besides eating at the property, our favorite place was the Tiki Bar and Grill - great for all ages. While there and after returning home, I couldn't help but to think about actually living there (at least dream about it). What a great place to be... I can't say enough good things about it! One last thing... although I unfortunately didn't get to finish... I found a book (you had placed in the master bedroom) written by your brother that was very interesting and fun to read! Please take care and many thanks!! :-)

Seaglass in Paradise!

Location, Location, Location…Seaglass exceeded my expectations and is a wonderful piece of paradise. You couldn’t want much more after watching the sun rise from the master suite, lounging on the upper and lower balconies, enjoying the fantastic view of the gulf, launching the kayak a few feet from the condo or jumping in for a little snorkeling. This was by far one of the best holidays I’ve had…a month just wasn’t long enough. The condo was nicely furnished and the kitchen was well stocked with glasses, bowls, cookware, appliances, etc. Seaglass is at just the right location…not far from Key West, Islamorada, Curry Hammock State Park, Bahia Honda State Park, just to name a few. Loved having access to Inch Beach (private beach – members only), we even had a little cookout on the picnic tables. The neighborhood was quiet and well maintained, not in the heart of things but close to everything in Marathon; Publics/Winn Dixie, Walgreens, post office, etc. We found a nice and reasonably priced breakfast at the “Stuffed Pig” and enjoyed both lunch and dinner at Lazy Days South (just don’t order the mixed drinks – they use too much juice so the drink isn’t balanced) and don’t miss a meal at Sparky’s…always busy but fun. Oh, for a treat try Sweet Savannah’s pastries and ice cream. The owner, Bob, was very helpful and made the process very easy. Thank You!!!

The Perfect Place to Stay

Seaglass was the perfect place to stay while visiting the Keys. The condo is beautifully maintained, the view is fantastic and the price very reasonable. We were able to visit both ends of the Keys by staying in the middle the drive is about an hour each way due to the low speed limits but a very relaxing drive. We loved eating at Sparky's and The Island. We rented a boat from Captain Hook's and snorkeled near the Seven Mile bridge, toured Key West and did the Fury ultimate adventure all of these activities well worth the money. We had a wonderful time and would recommend Seaglass as the perfect place to stay. Waking to the beautiful sunrise and watching the fabulous sunset was a delightful experience. Thanks to the owners who were extremely nice and accommodating, for sharing their beautiful home.
