Great Place to Stay and Perfect Location
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here so that should say a lot. Dani is a pleasure to work with. The house is very clean, fully stocked with the essentials, and sleeps our family of 4 very comfortable. The second bathroom is very nice to have, especially with kids! The dock is in great condition, very safe and secure and can accommodation two boats.There is plenty of parking for your vehicles and trailer as well. The location is perfect, about half way to the gulf and to the springs so right in the middle. It's close to the "Freezer" for those of you who are familiar with the popular restaurant that serves the best crab legs for cheap! We will be back!

We all enjoyed our stay. It is fixed up really cute.
The boat acesss to the river is great. The covered areas outside were really appreciated since there was rain everyday of our stay. The outside shower and ice machine both were pluses. The house was furnished with the things we needed. Thanks for those thought out details.

Perfect Place to Stay
First time overnight in Homosassa. The accommodations were perfect. Beautiful clean home on the water. Plan to come back every year. I would recommend to everyone.

A very nice property in a beautiful setting.
We had a great time here. We spent the majority of time hanging out and grilling outside. Perfect if you have a boat. The house is decorated nicely, it's cool and very comfortable. Dani, the owner is helpful if you need anything (although we didn't) I would highly recommend this piece of heaven on the river, in fact I already have!

Very Nice
The Crab Shack is close to everything in Old Homosassa! The house was wonderful and being on the waterfront was just what we wanted with our boat. I highly recommend this charming cottage for anyone wanting to visit Homosassa!!!

Absolutely Perfect
Absolutely perfect! Location is perfect for scalloping season, very clean and well stocked kitchen. Had an issue about 9 pm with the stove by 10 am the next morning Dani was out to take care of it. We will definitely be renting from her again. Very accommodating with all of our needs for boating! Couldn't recommend this quiet, private getaway location enough.

Best House For Scalloping
This house was PERFECT for our scalloping trip! It was centrally located between the Gulf and the Springs to cool off in after scalloping. We scalloped till we reached our limit, dropped them off to be cleaned at the schucking boats, drove around Monkey Island, then cooled off in the springs till they were schucked. Went home and made amazing meals each night! Greatest time ever! We will be back!!

Easy breezy beautiful vacation! MORE SCALLOPS THAN WE COULD EAT
House certainly was fully stocked, which made our stay comfortable and easy! Ample space for everyone in our large group. Screened patio was really nice to enjoy the canal without the bugs. Incredible no-wake dock space for our boats with towers. House was clean and well decorated. Host was excellent communicator. We had the fridge die on us and Dani came to replace the fridge with a brand new one within a matter of hours and also brought lots of ice to keep the food cold while the fridges were swapped. Unbelievable service!! For being late in the season, we also got more scallops than we could even eat. Thank you so much, we will certainly be back next year! :)

This waterfront 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom house is just what you need to relax. House sleeps up to 8 comfortably with 2 on IKEA mattress - King in the master, Queen in the 2nd Bedroom and Futon in the living room. 1 full bathroom, 1 half bathroom and an outdoor shower. Big living room, fully stocked kitchen over looks the water. Screened in porch with plenty of seating for the family. Fire pit, grill, ice maker, enough dock space for 3 boats. Washer/dryer. Garage. Pet Friendly. 5 minutes to the Homosassa River. Perfect kayaking location. Quiet and relaxing. Bring the whole family and relax. Close to The Freezer, Shelly's Seafood Market, The Shed, and the Riverside Resort.
About The Area
Old Homosassa is a quiet fun town. Small restaurants, tiki bars, and convienent to grocery stores, walmart, gas stations, and tractor supply.
You are also close to Golfing and Crystal River. Easy access to Tampa International.
House Rules
1) Guest acknowledges the Property is on the Homosassa River, there is no fence blocking access to the river from the Property and there is no lifeguard on duty at or near the Property. Guest assumes all risks of damage, personal injury or death, arising from the proximity of the Property to the river and the use of the river for swimming, diving, boating and other recreation. This provision extends to Guest, the rental party and all other persons on the Property at the request or with the consent of Guest or any member of the rental party during the term of the lease. Guest will indemnify and hold Homeowner harmless from any and all claims, loss, cost, damage or expense arising from or relating to such risks.
2) Smoking is NOT allowed in the house, Smoking is allowed outside only. Cigarette Butts must be put in garbage not on grounds or in the water. Butts on the ground MAY occur an ADDITIONAL cleaning fee.
3) All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
4) Keep the property and all furnishings in good order.
5)Only use appliances for their intended uses - notify homeowner IMMEDIATELY if anything stops functioning properly.
6)PETS are permitted only with prior approval and the Pet Addendum must be completed. No Cats.
7)Parking: PARKING – Parking is limited to __2_____ vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
8) Trailer Parking: Boat trailers may be parked in the driveway, on the front of the yard next to the road, or on the Garcia Rd Property if availability permits. Do not park on the middle of the lawn - there is a septic system there.
9)Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the house.
10) Storms:
If there is a storm or hurricane, no refunds will be given unless:
The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area" and/or
A "mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning" area of residence of a vacationing guest.
The day that the authorities order a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning," area, we will refund:
Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered;
Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten the stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and
Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the "Hurricane Warning" period.
Suitability
The Crab Shack is suited to a single family. The house is on the ground level. One step up into the house. Bathrooms are not big enough for wheelchairs. Bedrooms are large. The hosue is full stocked and comfortable. Bring the family to come relax, see the manatees, go fishing, go scalloping or just chill out.
