9 days of Paradise
Thank you, Randy and Tina for sharing this Jewel of a property. Steve and I had an absolutely wonderful time. The home was equipped with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed having the kayaks, beach chairs and umbrellas supplied. Our days were filled with shelling, walking the beautiful beaches and birdwatching. Cayo Costa is such a special place with a natural beauty not easily found. While kayaking around the island we came across an 8 ft alligator (yikes!) this memory won't soon be forgotten. Your hospitality was exceptional and we appreciate the personal service you gave us . We hope to come back again soon ! Sincerely, Heather and Steve

Heaven on Earth!
Our vacation at Sandy Seagull Hideaway was absolutely perfect and exactly what the doctor ordered for peace and relaxation. We took the 2-minute ride by golf cart to the gorgeous shell covered beach every day. We felt like we were the only people on the island. We also enjoyed taking the cart through the lush greenery to the State Park. We were thrilled with the wildlife we saw; especially Jeffrey the Tortoise and dolphins at the beach. Randy Crosby picked us up and became an instant friend as he drove us to Publix to pick up our groceries and then showed us around Pine Island while we waited for Captain Emily to arrive to ferry us to the island (we were earlier than expected). Randy and his wife poured much love into the Sandy Seagull and it shows in the details. The house has many amenities you don’t typically find in a rental home. The furniture is much nicer in person than the photos portray, the kitchen is loaded (even a sharp Chef’s knife!), and the beds felt like we were in an expensive hotel. The plush white towels and plenty of pillows and blankets made us feel so cozy. You’ll find plenty of books and games in the house. I told my husband I didn’t want to leave until I could read all of the books. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. We agree with the other comments here about not needing much clothing and shoes. The days were warm & nights were cool when we were there so we lived in our bathing suits during the day and lightweight pants and a lightweight sweatshirt in the evenings. I suggest being very precise with the grocery list you fax to Publix noting “1 each” or “1 pound” for each item. Luckily I noticed that they had only pulled 1 case of sparkling water instead of the 4 that I ordered so we were able to get enough before we left the store. We look forward to visiting this piece of paradise again sometime. There really is nothing like it! The Grams

An absolutely fantastic vacation rental
This was our second trip to the Sandy Seagull, and it was just as wonderful as the last one. I was impressed yet again by how immaculately clean, well-equipped, meticulously maintained, and comfortable the home is. We've been coming to Cayo Costa for years, and this is far and away our favorite rental home on the island -- if it were possible, we'd stay there every single time we visit! Some of the details that help make the Sandy Seagull especially comfortable are the excellent drinking water (it saves SO much weight and space to not need to bring drinking water with us, plus it's just so convenient to have good water on tap), the excellent beds and linens, the well-equipped and well-designed kitchen, and the solar hot tub. The cart trailer for getting down to the beach is also exceptionally spacious, which is great for a large group, and the pool table is a fun bonus. Having both a washer and dryer is also super-convenient and allows for lighter packing. We also really enjoyed the two hammocks, the screened porch, and the stunning sunset views from the top deck. The house is quite roomy, and though it says it sleeps 6 (and we had 6), I wouldn't hesitate to visit with a larger group -- there's plenty of room to set up air mattresses or cots. A few practical recommendations: put on sunscreen, then sunscreen again. You can't be too careful in Florida sun. Bring a good first aid kit and sunburn gel, just in case, but otherwise pack light -- you really don't need much more than swimsuit, beach towels, a couple changes of clothes, and a single pair of shoes, plus of course your food. A small cooler for the beach comes in handy, too. We had a fantastic trip and can't wait to come back again!
