Rooms are located in the main house. There is a one room cottage located in front of the house. It contains a kithcen area. If you are looking for privacy, the Blue Heron Cottage is your best choce.
You can spend your time relaxing in a hammock, watching the key deer stroll through the grounds, or just take a nap. You might like to try kayaking in the back country and observe some of the sea life. Riding a bike through the area is wonderful way to enjoy the quiet laid back life of Big Pine. Not far from the Barnacle is Looe Key, the popular and beautiful reef that is acessible by boat using one of the charters in Big Pine. If you decide to enjoy the many shops of Key West, you can travel the short 30 miles to Key West, then at the end of day return to the solitude of Big Pine. Bahia Honda State Park with its nice beach area is only 3 miles away which gives the option of taking a wonderful stroll on the beach.
On the weekends, be sure to visit the flea market in the middle of Big Pine. It is popular with locals and visitors as well. There are many great places to eat that are located in Big Pine and other islands nearby.
