This Cottage is Showered with Oak Leaves During Fall

Home Description

Fall is a special season at the Pinecone Cottage. Just behind a white picket fence and your private driveway is this one-bedroom property. What makes fall so special? Guests love our low rate -- just $79 a night! We challenge you to find another Big Bear cabin at this very economical price with so much charm.

Another feature that attracts guests is the large bedroom with its queen bed and Sleep Number mattress that allows you to find you best comfort level in just a few seconds. Next to the queen bed is a built-in desk tucked under a bay window that fills the room with light. If the only way you can take off for a mountain getaway is by promising the boss a few 'must-do' assignments will get done, this is an ideal location to tackle them. Your laptop, the simple WiFi connection, and an understanding partner are all that's needed.

Pinecone Cottage is located on the east end of Big Bear Valley. But the lake and village are just a 10-minute drive away. Take a moment to review the many positive comments from former guests, making the Pinecone Cottage a five-star property. The cottage has more than two dozen pine trees that fill the large, fenced backyard. They are particularly majestic at sunup and sundown. That’s how the cottage got its name. Let's not forget the many oak trees in the front yard. They shower the cottage with falling leaves that resemble golden butterflies.

Inside, there is an eclectic mix of old-world treasures, rustic American antiques, as well as all the modern conveniences one expects in a vacation home. In addition to WiFi, there are 100s of channels to surf on the TVs in the living room and bedroom. The living room bookshelves have games and books to enjoy during your stay.

Just because the cottage is cozy, it doesn't mean the eat-in kitchen is lacking anything to prepare your own meals. Much care was taken to utilize every square inch of space in this kitchen, which includes a microwave for quick snacks, plus a four-burner stove and oven for larger meals. There's also a full-size frig. Plenty of cabinet space below and above gleaming black granite countertops hold all the pots and pans you will need to make a four-course dinner, if so inclined. A coffee maker, blender and toaster -- even a crock pot -- are included. The vaulted ceilings, covered in a rich T&G honey pine planks, make you realize you are in the mountains. The same shade appears on the wood floors.

Even your morning shower can be an adventure in the Pinecone Cottage. The tub has a rain forest shower head, plus a second hand-held rinsing nozzle. There's a hair dryer, of course, plus plenty of plush towels, soap and shampoo. You'll even find cotton balls!

We love our pets as much as any fur-loving parents, but Pinecone has a no pet policy. Also, the maximum occupancy is two individuals. Whether you want to stay for two days or a week or two, we look forward to enhancing your decision to visit Big Bear (we have even had guests stay for a month and more).

Charming and Quiet Cottage-The Perfect Getaway

This was a lovely cottage, close to all the activities Big Bear Lake offers. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. It is very well appointed and in a beautiful setting with tall pine trees. A very cute, romantic getaway. The cottage was very clean, the Wifi and cable worked perfectly. The kitchen is so well stocked for extensive cooking. There are plenty of linens and the fireplace was so nice in the evenings. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. David was extremely prompt and kind when I first inquired about this property. I was supplied with very specific directions to the cottage, he greeted me upon arrival and bent over backwards to make me feel welcome. The three owners are very willing to answer questions anytime and give great advice about activities, restaurants or any other area information. I feel very fortunate to have found this property to rent. It was a perfect 4 days. Thank you!
