Downtown 2br /2 bath house with stunning views and amazing Architecture

Home Description

Views and Large Deck for outdoor living, 2 bedroom- two bath plus courtyard.
El Zapato is a three story whimsical home -recently designed by noted architect Jeff Shelton. The property is on the downtown walking tour and is four blocks from the beach, three blocks from State Street. You won't miss it as It is covered with Maine lobster tiles and each floor boasts some new color or tile design surprise.

There is a one bedroom apartment (The Green Cabana) with queen bed in the bedroom and a queen sofa-bed in the living room. The apartment also has a large outdoor deck with great mountain views. Total square footage of the apartment about 1200 sq ft and the deck with a sleeping area is about 300 sq ft. There is a full kitchen with high end appliances -gas stove/ dishwasher/ microwave. etc.

Downstairs are two additional bedrooms (the Lobster Studios) off the courtyard. Rooms are decorated with whimsical lobsters and vintage paint-by-number Maine lighthouses. Both rooms have their own sink and share a large ADA bathroom off the courtyard. You can have your choice of either room_ one has a queen bed and the other two XL singles.
There are gorgeous views of the mountains from the Green Cabana deck and doors that open completely to the outside living areas. The colorful interiors will make you smile and everything is brand new- just completed in 2016.

Movies, presentations, and slide shows can be projected on the wall of the open courtyard which is yours to use and very private. Off street secure parking provided.

We are one block from popular the Saturday Farmer's market and a few blocks from the lively Funk Zone. You literally can walk to almost anything you will need from here - the beach on Cabrillo to the Mission (although that's a bit of a hike) , but you can see the mission from the rooftop. The neighborhood is VERY quiet at night as we are surrounded by non-profit organizations and small businesses. We are located in the heart or "SoCo", south of Cota, burgeoning arts district. Very safe, very convenient , very fun!!

Beautiful, clean and great for a group

You can't beat this location for walkability, close to downtown and the beach. The home was comfortable and very clean. We were three couples and the Green Cabana, plus the two Lobster Studios were perfect for us. The homeowner, Carla, and the property manager, Diane, were extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful trip!

Fun quirky house

This house is 3 blocks from the heart State street. Close to the funk zone and 10 min from the beach. Carla was very helpful and nice. The house has everything you need. We were able to cook a Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen. The table inside seats two but the outside area seats many more. Garden street is a busy street with some street noise, but we found street parking in front every day. The two studios downstairs share a bath that you access from the outside courtyard. We were concerned about that but with the Santa Barbara weather it was not an issue. The pull out bed in the studio was very comfortable. So was the IKEA chair that pulled out to a single bed. We had a very nice time in this cute funky house!

Awesome House / Great Location

My wife and I spent 4 nights in Santa Barbara for our 19th anniversary and one of the highlights was staying at this awesome house! It was perfectly located and walking distance to State Street with many restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and shopping. It was also a block from a grocery store which was great! We enjoyed the amazing outdoor patio area and the beautiful views! The property was well maintained, very clean, and we enjoyed meeting the owner and all her recommendations. She was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and we would love to come back again in the near future.

Birthday weekend at the El Zapato house

My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend up in Santa Barbara for his birthday, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The El Zapato house was conveniently close to downtown; only a few blocks from State Street. The house is beautiful and very unique, with a gorgeous outdoor patio. It was easy access and the property was very clean and well maintained. We had a few friends stay with us from out of town, and everyone was impressed by the place. It was especially perfect for enjoying summer afternoons and nights on the patio. I would highly recommend the El Zapato house to family and friends!
