Perfect for our Young Adult Church Retreat
We used Happy Holler for a church retreat last year and wanted to come back. Perfect location from San Diego—not too far, but feels remote. Nic is very responsive, friendly and helpful. In the past year, he has put more work into the place, with planters, a finished hot tub area, and mulch which looks nice and keeps the dust under control. Place looked great! It is definitely rustic, not posh—but that's exactly what we were looking for. Having multiple common areas both inside and out is great for coordinating group meetings and being able to spread out a bit. The addition of a bug-zapper is really helpful, but bring bug spray. A good bit of bees, too—so beware if you are allergic. Looking forward to returning next year!

Great space to relax and unwind amongst the trees
Very fun and funky place, the wood burning hot tub was a hit, and the space is perfect for sitting outside enjoying nature. It's pretty rustic and be ready with the bug spray, lots of flys and a few mosquitoes, and don't expect a fancy cabin, this falls somewhere in between camping and glamping (glamour-camping). Great spot within a bunch of trails or just a quick drive up to the observatory. The host was very accommodating and helpful with questions. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back soon.

Relaxing Getaway
My expectations were high, having heard great reviews from a personal friend. Happy Holler did not disappoint. The amenities were top notch, especially the wood-fire jacuzzi! I look forward to my next trip, and would recommend it to anyone looking to "unplug" for the weekend.

Relaxing cabin in the woods!
This is my second visit at Happy Holler. Our family enjoys the cabin in the woods- very peaceful and a great place to stay! My only recommendation is for curtains to be in the bedroom in the main cabin!
