Edelstone (wealthy industrialist, philanthropist and art collector) by Hal Broderick of Arthur Elrod and Associates, this masterpiece of mid-century design has been toured by The Smithsonian Institute, The L.A. Museum of Contemporary Art and featured in Architectural Digest (September/October 1975). Elrod Villa is a licensed Palm Springs vacation rental.

The living and dining rooms set the stage for elegant entertaining with soaring ceilings, extensive use of indirect lighting, fireplace, bar, and Italian travertine flooring that extend to the outdoors. Walls of glass overlook the terrace with a luxurious tiled pool, oversized spa and dramatic panoramic views of the San Jacinto mountains.
Space-age bachelor pad details abound with immense steel doors, a mirrored powder room, wet bar, retro-futuristic lighting control panels (including one hidden beside the master bed) and a thumping whole-house audio system cleverly concealed in gorgeous, custom hardwood cabinets. Today, we continue to enhance the villa's midcentury "home of the future" vibe with cool features including color-changing LED lighting, whole house streaming audio (from our device or yours) and tablet-based control of the pool, spa and fountain.

The residence offers 2,400 square feet of living space, including two bedrooms and a spacious den (or third bedroom). The Elrod Villa can sleep up to 6. Conveniently located within minutes of downtown restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
Suitability: Inside, Elrod Villa is a non-smoking property, but smoking is allowed outside in the private pool/garden area. As a historic midcentury modern home, Elrod Villa is not suitable for pets or children and, as a matter of policy, minors under the age of 16 are not allowed.
Please inquire for quotes on weekly (7-night) and monthly (28-days or more) stays! We typically offer discounts for such stays which the VRBO/HomeAway quote tool cannot accurately present.

House Rules
Elrod Villa bookings are governed by our rental agreement, which we send as electronically signable via email. Please note that, per City of Palm Springs regulations, the guest signing the agreement must be at least 25 years of age. Maximum of 6 overnight guests. Names and ages of all guests must be provided for our rental agreement.
Per updated City of Palm Springs regulations, guest signing rental agreement must provide a copy of their government-issued photo ID. As described in our rental agreement, these regulations also require us to secure the signatures of all adult guests to a “Statement of Rules and Regulations” document provided by the City either during our hosted check-in process, or within 24 hours of check-in. Providing these signatures is a condition of occupancy.
City of Palm Springs Transient Occupancy Tax of 11.5% is added to all quotes. Quotes also include a $200-250 + tax cleaning fee and, at some times of year, may also include a separate fee for pool heat. To reserve and confirm your booking, payment of 50% of total rent and fees is due at signing of the rental agreement. The balance (including $600 refundable damage deposit) is due 30-days before check-in. All major credit cards and PayPal are accepted for payment via our secure online payment system.
As a historic midcentury modern home, Elrod Villa is not suitable for pets (please note: service animals, which are of course not pets, are allowed). Our property has features (such as hard floors, sharp edged features of the pool and artworks, etc.) which may make it unsafe or uncomfortable for children—as a result, minors under the age of 16 are not allowed without prior approval.
