Welcome to Rose cottage at Silver Strand Beach in Oxnard, California, where you can have quiet sunset walks minutes from your beach cottage. Silver Strand is a 2-mile beach famous for sun bathing, surfing, fishing and wind surfing, along with a kiddy beach that is roped off & safe for small children.
Clam digging & surf fishing is allowed w/ a fishing license from the near by bait & tackle store. Day long fishing trips to the Santa Cruz & Anacapa Islands are available. Peddle boats, paddle boards and Kayaks can be rented at the fishing boat dock. All are within walking distance. Farmers Market is held every Sunday across the channel on Hollywood Beach.
Rose Cottage is 350' from the beachfront on a very quiet and friendly street that is well kept. The home is all solar powered with lots of natural light in all rooms. This a bright and cheerful house with two large skylights in the upstairs main room. The downstairs has a beautifully stained concrete floor, and the upstairs is hardwood flooring with area rugs.
Within 3 blocks walking distance are Quincy;s family restaurant & bar, Pepe's famous taco stand and the corner market for quick needed items. The larger markets are 10 minutes driving distance from the house - along with a Star Bucks.
This is a 2100 sq. ft. 2 story house that was newly remodeled in 2013. We can comfortably sleep 9 and if anyone is willing to share a double futon you can easily sleep 10. Upstairs has 2 queen beds, downstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds and the den has one queen futon and one double futon. Linens, blankets, quilts, and bed pillows will be provided, and all beds will be made up for your arrival. Mattress & pillows are covered with zipper plastic protectors for your health protection. Quilts & blankets are washed before each renters arrival. There are closets & dressers in all the bedrooms providing ample storage for your belongings.
There are two 50'" Smart TV's with direct TV that can connect to your computer thru WiFi to access over 600 free movies. Upstairs has a wood-burning fireplace.
The downstairs bathroom has a large shower and a new washer & dryer for your use. The upstairs bathroom has a claw bathtub & tile floor. There is a hot/cold shower outside to rinse off the sand. Towels & all soaps will be provided.
The kitchen is complete with all the cooking equipment you would require to fix prepare meals for 10 people. The kitchen has a dishwasher, sub-zero refrigerator - w/ice maker, separate refrigerator drawers, along with a 1950 six burner, double oven/broiler Wedgwood stove. The dining table seats 6, and the very large granite counter has 5 bar stools. We will provide dishwasher soap, dish soap, dish towels, new sponges, washing machine soap, and fabric softener sheets.
There is a front patio with a fire pit and chairs along with a BBQ. The driveway can accommodate two vehicles. We will provide 10 beach chairs, 6 boogie boards and one surf board.
Fire wood, propane for the BBQ and all paper goods will be supplied. The only product we do not provide is shampoo.
