Private, quiet, convenient, seemingly impossibly all rolled into one (but true!). Downtown Oakland is 8 minutes away, Montclair and Lake Merritt about 3-5 minutes drive, and even downtown SF without traffic is 17 minutes. At the same time it feels like living in the country. All the lots on the street are huge, my yard is a landscaped half acre with a 21 foot yurt on it. You may never want to leave. Friends comment that "it's like living in Sonoma in the middle of Oakland". You may not want to leave- I have this "dilemma" often myself. Outdoor shower in the process of being built, just to add even more to my sanctuary, baby grand piano, long, deep bathtub, and more decks and sitting areas than you know what to do with. And the neighbors on all sides are true friends and beautiful people, making it my personal heaven, and yours too, when you visit.
